Hi! For some days I've been having trouble loading steam pages. It shows a message as if I wasn't connected to the internet.
But it gets weirder: it isn't with all games but most of them, as well as the steam store front page. It doesn't work on steam client nor using another web browsers but this seems to be only when I'm logged in as pages do load on incognito mode.

Any clues why is this happening?

No GA this time, sorry.

Try using GoogleDNS and see if it works https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/

Could your ISP be blocking access to Steam? Open command prompt and type
ping store.steampowered.com (enter)
and see if there's reply and how fast.

it shows 48ms average. I don't think is a connection issue as pages load on incognito and on my phone via wifi. Is just web browsers and the steam client, apparently

Yeah isp/connection/dns is definitely not an issue.
Have you tried clearing chrome cash? Edge, steam, opera and similar browsers also use chromium, so they'd all be affected if something goes wrong with the underlying thingy.

I don't even have chrome installed

Try updating the clock if you are on windows. Synchronize to a time server like: time.nist.gov
Could be userscripts/extensions.
If you are on laptop, maybe the wifi/wifi module could be sort of worn out a bit. Or maybe the routers wifi isnt what it used to be and is somewhat old. In which case try using Ethernet instead and see if it persists. If it doesnt, try changing wifi channel to 13.
Other issue that could be happening could be with chrome's profile files not loading fast, or correctly, or may be somewhat corrupted. Maybe try reinstalling from fresh, not forgetting to backup before that. And after start fresh and make a new profile.
Also could be with the antivirus/firewall/antimalware application that you have setup if you do have one installed.

Some may be more annoying and time consuming to test, but there is no real solution i can give you. And none of them may work either.

Edit: Of course don't forget to remove from the power plug every device, including the laptop/router/switch if you have one. If you do have a backup router try it. If you have a backup switch try it. Or even better, try to connect directly. Still if no solution works, try checking on the router for CRC errors and stuff like that. It could be the internet line having some issues and therefore you may need to contact ISP to assist you.

I haven't been having this problem lately, but I did noticed it a week or 2 ago. I could not get some games on the Steam store to load, and like you said, it was only while I was logged in. If I opened the page in another browser where I wasn't logged in or in a private tab, it would load instantly. I think it is just a problem with Steam.

Are you using google chrome by any chance and if so are you using an adblocker?

I am using Edge with AdBlocker but the problem persists even when it is disabled. Also this happens on the steam client and opera.

Ok then it's not the issue I was thinking was happening.

Have you checked to see if your net is having intermittent issues?

Everything loads fine except for the steam pages

Try removing your ad blocker from your web browser and then clearing the history, cache and cookies in both your browser and in steam and see if it changes anything.

I didn't remove the adblocker but I had cleared cache and cookies several times. I tried onces again with history and it works, at least with the titles which pages I tried to load. that's weird. Steam client still won't load store but yeah I don't really care about that one. Thanks!

There could be an issue with the adblocker. You may want to remove it and then do what I mentioned to see if it clears it up.

I did, still the same. Clearing history, cookies and chace worked las night but today I couldn't load the page again. For some reason it logged me out and after login in again I can browse the store if I enter from steam.powered.com but if I click google results or game banners on sg it just won't load (even the pages for games that do load if I use the steam store search). Also fixed this on client by deleting downloads cache but I don't know for how long

Try clearing all steam related cookies in your browser. After that you'll be logged off, so log in again.
Usually this procedure helps with most weird Steam issues.

Now I'm logged off but still can't load steam pages. this is so weird

+1
That's right.
However, you need to "close all Steam related pages in the browser before deleting cookies" and "delete cache".

If this is not the case, please check if it can be opened in the "private window".
If you can't open it is a security or firewall, DNS or network issue.

those solutions only seems to apply for steam client and, as I said, this is on every browser. flushconfig did help to load the store on the client for now though. thanks.

I've got a lot on my plate today -- curing cancer and solving the world hunger issue, and then this issue with your browsers!
Give me some time, man! That's all I ask!

I've been getting a 500 error sometimes the last few weeks when trying to go to store pages on the browser. Haven't been having problems with any other sites so maybe it's related to them changing things to get ready for the summer sale.

I really hope it is. It's getting kind of random when it loads and it doesn't on the client right now. So maybe you're right.

i think they switch steam store over to old crap servers like a week before a sale so they can set prices and crap on the sale ahead of time then switch us back when the sale starts, just my theory anyways because this crap seems to happen before each sale past few times.

If you still have the problem, make sure that your ISP is not blocking your access.
Whilst traveling I had the problem that a ISP blocked all gambling and gaming related sites.
That was a bit frustrating because also youtube was blocked, but strange enough not the youtube alternatives.

Probably they were adjusting servers or something previous to sales? It seems to be working fine for the moment. I've called them and they changed mi IP but it didn't do anything, later that day the steam store loaded kinda randomly and only in one tab but today it even works on the client. Thanks still!
