Is there a functioning website that can tell me which games I have in common with other steam accounts? i.e friends etc.

Also to then filter out those games which are online multiplayer could be nice too.

The friends search now shows friends in a drop down list (after entering your own username in the first field). The tool is useful for finding games several friends own.

The issue is most likely not with the websites but with the individual accounts not having changed from Steam's new (11 April) default privacy settings, which make "Game details" private. The lorenzostanco site that Mihey3Z referred to is the one I have used in the past and it should still work fine for accounts that have changed their privacy settings to make Game details public.

I had considered that, but we all have public profiles

Based on your response to Mihey3Z, it looks like the lorenzostanco site worked for the two of you. Have you found what you were looking for?

I guess you know already, but Steam itself.
In case you don't, go to the desired user profile, and add this bit in the address bar:
/games/?tab=all&games_in_common=1

You can't filter by genre, though :\

Steam is incredibly slow at doing it esp when there are a lot of games
