What OS are you running? Is this the first time it happens? have you made any recent updates? and this can be caused by many things.

well ima assume that it something that installs with the game is affecting it, but i cant say for sure because i dont own lucid so i dont know what it installs or what it needs to run. I say uninstall the game through steam reinstall it this should be fairly quick. Then pay attention to what is being installed othe r than the game its self. for ex. Direct X, java, things of that sort because it could be installing an older version that can conflict with what you already installed on your system.

also check if you the game is compatible with Win7 if not just make it compatible through properties, compatibility tab. If that doesn't work well id be stuck also, just like my Bioshock game i cant play it without having to apply a fix every time, so i just gave up on it...for now anyway.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Uh... okay, well, the button on the side, is it glowing? ...yeah, you need to turn it on... uh, the button turns it on... yeah, you do know how a button works don't you?
Have you tried forcing an unexpected reboot?
Is it definitely plugged in?
