I purchased some before the new gift-url-only rules went into effect, so I'm looking for another outlet to give these away on.

Ideally I'd like to hang onto them for a month or two so the people that actually missed the bundle could have a chance to get in on them.

I'm just looking for a good way to facilitate such giveaways later down the road.

Input is welcome and appreciated!

Like someone else said on another forum, if it isn't a problem with the mods, you should be allowed to hold raffles (or giveaways, whatever) for them since you're a well known and respected by the community. I get the feeling that that rule was made for people who just joined (like mua) who may or may not have gotten them in a reprehensible way.

In my opinion, you should be able to submit them for giveaways. Maybe take screenshots of each Humble Bundle key page to show that the keys haven't been used? In the event that someone claims that the keys were used, you can provide that screenshot to prove them wrong.

Also, hypothetically speaking, if you created the giveaways and no one had any problems with it, how would anyone really know what kind of URLs they were? I mean, unless there was an issue with unused/used keys, no one would know except the winner and the creator of the giveaway.

As LimeyBritShicks said, I think the rule is in place so that people actually get the entire Humble Bundle. In the past, there have been issues with people giving out Desura keys instead of Steam keys as well as giving out download links for the various games. By forcing people to use the gift URL only, it ensures that each winner gets access to the entire Humble Bundle (games, soundtracks, etc.).

However, having said that, I don't think your problem is necessarily with the rule itself. It's just that the rule came into place at an inopportune time and I don't think you should be penalized for it. After all, it's all about the giving in the end.

Same happened with me, I bought regular keys, they are untouched and saved safely on my computer, the keys are not redeemed and stuff, but when I asked he said only giftable... Now I have a couple of this sitting down there, and as I said I was intending on giving away the gift link, but if that is not possible then I'll need to give them personally or raffle them personally then.

Totally bad timing when the rule was implemented :(. But oh well, now lets get used to it

You can either go one of two ways: either give the benefit of the doubt to the creator of the giveaway or you can instate the rule that's currently in place.

Given the situation, I don't think it's fair that people that bought the Humble Bundles before the rule should be penalized for, basically, wanting to give out games. Yes, it's nice to have gift URLs from this point onward but, as it stands right now, the rule was put into place in the later stages of the bundle and, as a result, should not affect people that have bought the bundles already.

Has anyone asked the Humble Bundle staff if they can convert their provided URLs to gifts? If that's possible, that could be an alternative for those of you that already purchased bundles.
