Considering he has already placed a SG link in that group, that would suggest they already know this.

I think the issue is just what Lugum suggested, their profile wasn't updated to say they are in that group so could post giveaways.

bug with steam, have to go through steam support to fix to get the name to show properly and SG will then reflect that. Otherwise SG will only show your group as a blank name(grouped with all the other blank named groups suffering from same bug)

that is assuming you have synced already
