"opportunity to win" not just free.

I think they're indeed giving it for free, it just that the author did not express himself correctly.

And it clearly says they're giving it for free, in the title. They're also saying that you have to save the mail, after receiving it, so why would they ask that, if it was only a giveaway? He said "opportunity" because it's still on greenlight yet, you're not getting it right away.

EDIT: Also this is what I received in my email.

"Once the game gets Greenlit, you will get a free key as a reward. "

Maybe there just using that as an excuse to cover their backs. So say when it does actually get greenlit and released the developer then says "Oh actually we were only giving away like 10 copies". I wouldn't be suprised if that happened knowing what happens on greenlight.

edit: Although the email does say this - "Once the game gets Greenlit, you will get a free key as a reward.
Cheers!".

Follow the steps:
1) Listen to devs who trade free keys for Greenlight votes
2) Complain about how the average quality of Steam games is getting lower

this one looks actually pretty good - seems to be much better quality (nice and detailed areas, good quality voice acting, animation instead of just stale pictures) than 90% of adventure games on greenlight

It is, but no one really follows this rule.

Can I give away copies of my game in exchange for votes?
We don't think that giving away copies of your game in exchange for votes accurately reflects genuine customer interest. That is something we continue to take into account when evaluating titles to be greenlit.

Not really.

Not really.

Bundles are much more to blame.

Well, maybe i have the order of things wrong, but wouldn't a game need to be released on Steam before Steam keys for said game are available?

Greenlight bundles

But a Steam key usually is provided if and when the game gets Greenlit and not before..

But the people who bought the bundle vote for the game so it gets greenlit and they can get a steam key.

This game looks good and would be greenlit either way

Well, the game doesn't look bad, i will say that.
Good games will always find a way to be available on Steam, but the same goes for the bad ones.

People or person obviously put some time into making something decent so best of luck to them but word of mouth should be getting the game greenlit, not an offering of a key for the game..imo

Yea, but they don't always go through greenlight first, sometimes they just get released directly on steam.

You did remember to submit your details, right?

And if you did, hold up, I doubt they're done sending yet. They did say:

Steam Keys will be sent within one week, to everyone who submitted their details via form on TwoDesperados website.
