I just received a mail telling me "New Steam Account linked" which puzzled me.

It states:-
"Hello,

The Steam account named has been linked to your Humble Bundle account.

If you were responsible for this change, you can safely ignore this email. Otherwise, please contact us at contact@humblebundle.com so we can figure out what happened."

I did not remove the name. It came to me exactly like above. Thus I went and looked at my last purchase (unclaimed to my hib account) and saw a foreign steam account linked. I have since removed it.

Was there some security loophole or anything that could have resulted in this?

PS: Closed the first thread by accident while trying to edit a typo >.>

EDIT: On closer look, some of my games which were previously unredeemed ie. showing the click to redeem box now shows give this link to your friend. Thus either the unauthorized steam account did that and grab the games or humble is pretty wonky. At this time...likely the first.

People do things like this humblebundle.com/key and then put random numbers

OP is saying that his Humble account was linked with a different Steam account though. If someone uses a key that is on your account (for example if you gift someone a key) or if someone did indeed use the method that you state then there is no association between the humble account and Steam account.

If you send a gift link to somebody, it doesn't show you which account the key was redeemed on which is what happened with the OP.

Someone has got into the humble account itself and not just took a key that they shouldn't have.

I am rather confused myself.
My steam account was always linked and there was no mail telling me it was unlinked. I did get the mail about the unauthorized account and proceed to unlink that a couple minutes after getting it (also getting a mail about that). Then I linked my own account back...and got a mail alert too. No idea why the very first time I did not get a mail from humble.
