I like games, and enjoy playing them, but lately I noticed that they've been pushed enough down the list of things to do in my limited spare time that I don't get to them. Sometimes I think about playing a game, but then I decide I could do better things with my time (these things being browsing the web, watching a part of some movie or TV series, playing around with my "gaming project" in Unity, planning my HTPC, or various other things that come and go).

It's sad to me. I have these tons of games and I'm not playing any of them. I'll probably snap out of it and play something, perhaps once I'm finished with that HTPC, decide the game won't work out, or whatever. The other ray of hope is that the almost-two-year-old is showing signs of PC attraction. He can strike a nice pose behind the laptop screen, playing with the mouse and watching what happens. Perhaps there's a chance he'll take to some gaming the way my daughter hasn't, and we'll play together on the Wii or something.

You are just bored of playing games.Taking some time of from gaming and taking care of other things / watching tv series you were putting off etc is a good thing. After few weeks/months when you finished watching/reading or done with other things you will want to play your games again.

Once you start losing your free time, any distraction or things that make your mind wonder will turn more attractive. Hell, fiddling around with MS-Paint turns interesting when you have a lot of boring things to do.

If you're growing sick of vidyagaems, try a different hobby. There are tons of hobbies out there. Maybe reading, cooking, sports, travelling, etc will get a better grip of your attention than virtual entertainment currently will.

That happens to me when the games I play get to parts that stupid and or hard. What are game dev's thinking sometimes? Games are supposed to be fun, not frustrating.

Part of it could be the 'paradox of choice'. You might have a lot of games, yet you'll stick to ones you are familiar with because you know you will get some level of enjoyment from them, however if you go to pick another of your games from your list, well, you might not be able to choose one. If you do end up choosing one, your level of enjoyment and satisfaction from your choice is decreased due to opportunity cost. It's hard for me to explain, but I watched a lecture on it a while back.
I've had this issue for a long time, ever since the Steam sales got me to buy a lot of games.

It happens when you add everything to your list because it is on sale, or buy the hundreds of bundles with crappy indie games. You end up with a pile of games and wonder "what do I do now". And yes I know from personal experience.
