I haven't played it yet, but I've heard it's one of the worse in the franchise.

It's alright, not that great. It's pretty short, I wouldn't pay full price for it again though. I bought it on my 360 when it came out, once I passed it I traded it in. There's also pretty much no replay value either. Definitely not one of the better need for speeds.

Underground 2 had the worst car handling. The cars felt like they had no weight to them, and the slightest force will just spin them around.
It did have amazing graphics though. Even today, the atmosphere and lights means it is the best looking NFS as far as I am concerned.

Well the NFS doesn't really stand that well.
if you want your super-ancient-NFS then go Porsche 2000 or something
tuning and illegal races were good in Underground, Underground 2 and Most Wanted (the old one). Carbon's fine too.
SHiFT and SHiFT 2 are great games but think of them as a separate franchise, with actual technical racing in racecars on racetracks. ProStreet was somewhat a "test" before those, it was a mix of legal races with some less legal modifications, and it turned out pretty decent. It was very raw and you had to spend a whole lot of time changing and configuring the steering settings... and god it introduced "assisted" turning and breaking. It was absolutely unplayable on easy difficulty. and I mean unplayable as in it wasn't you playing the game it was the computer doing it for you ;o
Then there's new-age NFS's like the new Most Wanted, new Hot Pursuit and of course The Run...
and they are all shit. I don't know who they're aimed for. 3year olds, girlfriends and other filthy casuls maybe.

I loved The Run. The only annoying thing about it was that there was no continuation. If you crash, it would send you to the last checkpoint.
That said.. I still rate it as the best NFS to come after Carbon.
For me the worst in the franchise was ProStreet.

Get need for speed carbon and most wanted, because those are the best games the franchise has ever created. BTW, don't search for it on steam or origin, just buy the CD's off of Amazon.

I didn't like Carbon. Found it way too short and way too easy and no replay value for me. Underground 2 and Most Wanted were the 2 best imo.

How about Test Drive Unlimited 2, even though it sound's like a different game.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 was pretty good i think, I didn't play it that much, I enjoyed the 1st one alot more but that's just my opinion. Others might say differently.

As far as I was aware everything after Carbon was terrible.

More Quick Time Events than Racing.
Still, feels like you are in a movie with that. A little forced, as every single NFS storyline.
Odly enough, not the worst around, EA managed to sink the series with much creativity over the years.

The Run is ok, if you want a single player experience with story. buy it cheap on sale, and you probably won't regret it.

Can someone tell me how good The Run is, as a Need for Speed game?
