You can probably contact Origin support and ask them for a key (tell them you have the boxed version). The Sims 2 was actually free some time ago (for a limited time).

Before they gave the Complete Edition for free, I got mine by asking support.They ask you for some info about your copy to know it's legit.

1 or 2 years ago. They gave us a code which unlocked the base game and all the expansions.
