I turned on the "hide games you own" option. Descended from 71 pages of giveaways to 17. I was always wasting so much time going through all the giveaways and fishing with my eyes for the ones I don't own. It was a drag. Now it's pure pleasure.

I won't be able to pick out re-gifters though to add to my blacklist as I already own most of the games that are always re-gifted. Oh well, maybe I'll just delete my whole blacklist and won't bother.

What do you mean? I always sync my account after buying a bundle/a game.

If you sync your account, it's automatic.

No, it's not if you don't have the "hide games you own" option turned on.

Yes it is. I have no idea what you're talking about. I sync my account all the time and the games I own never show up.

Because you have that option enabled, it is an option, which is disabled by default.

I never enabled it, so I believe you are wrong.

because you have the option activated... if you didn't, it wouldn't hide (wich is one of the point of having the option)
If you synced but let the option on "no" then you would still see the games in the list, you would just not be able to enter the giveaway

Yes, but the option has always been on for me. I've never 'activated' an option to hide all owned games so I have no idea what you(anyone) may or may not be talking about.

then you are just saying what we are saying, if its on "yes" then it hide the games you own. The fact you didn't turned it on yourself, or don't remember doing it, don't really matter

I guess. I'm just curious about these 'options', never found or heard of them.

Because you have the option enabled. I had it disabled and saw every created giveaway (even for games I owned) despite syncing account every day.

I'm just going to copy + paste this, so excuse me for a moment.

Well then, at least now you know that your previous statement:

"If you sync your account, it's automatic."

is wrong.

It's only automatic for those who have this option (hide games you own) enabled.

I'm honestly just curious about the option because I've previous looked for supposed 'options' that people have mentioned and I have never found any. if you're talking about Steamgifts plus... Then yeah, you should say that it's included in that.

Go to your account page (place where you can see how many points you have, click there) and then on the left click "giveaways" under "settings" tab. There you can turn it on and off.

How is it even me that lost the 'argument'? The original point of this so called 'argument' is that it wasn't automatic / default on, which is proven false by the fact that it was automatic / default on for me and I've never touched the option that has been mentioned.

Trying to make a big deal out of something such as this is pretty lame.

Chill bro, you are the one that typed walls text to prove something over the internet.

Of course. I was just inquiring because I honestly didn't understand. Besides, overall communication over the internet is worth absolutely nothing. I'll forget about this by tomorrow, or later tonight even.

Even better: Click the hide button on games you don't want so you don't have to click though pages of unwanted games additional to the games you already own.

We've been using the new site for months and we still don't know all the options even though it doesn't really have many options. Thank God I'm not a programmer cause I would get lost in everything :D

Yep. Eye button is good. My list is nowadays usually 1 or 2 pages long at the maximum. I don't even dare to look up any more how many games I have filtered out, stopped watching it after 2000.

That was one of the first thing i did on sgv2, it also help not making mistake entering a giveaway for a game you own and didn't remember ... (even with the option, some of them show)
The only problem is during free weekend, you don't see games as it consider its in your library ff you sync without knowing, i missed some chivalry giveaway this week end due to that >.<

I have no idea why this isn't the default. I was on this site for weeks hiding every game I had one-by-one until I discovered this setting.
Maybe somebody who was part of the discussion remembers why this isn't the default? Can anybody share some light?

Yes, I like that option. Been wroking at hiding DLC I already own that SG doesn't pick up and DLC I'm just not interest in lately too.

It all makes for a nice, clean, easy to navigate list. Never see over 250 total giveaways and am usually under 200. Currenttly it's at 159.
