I only have WarCraft3 and Star Wars Battlefront II left. And a few PlayStation1 CD leftovers, because I gave away most games along with the console.

in last 2 years i bought only heroes V, black ops (with steam...) and red faction guerilla(good discount). i would buy physical copies but my dvd drive not always read game discs(need to buy new one) and my internet is not bad (over 4mb/s on steam).

Yes, i have many, latest addition being The Elder Scrolls Anthology. Imho, and i hope no one takes offence at this, any real gamer should enjoy having your small(or large) retail game collection. And it's not about using them to install anything, i have very good internet. For the ones that came with steam keys i will never put a single scratch on the dvd.

I never said it makes you a real gamer, i meant it's something a real game should enjoy, i'l rephrase to make it more clear. Participating in a competition has nothing to do with being a real anything. It just means you are(or are trying to be) part of the elite/pro scene for said game/sport. Your guitar example is also bad, who said i or anyone else that owns physical copies does not play those games?

Honestly, I don't like physical PC games anymore due to being able to get digital copies for a fraction of the price, whether it be from steam, GoG, or Greenmangaming.
Sure, I'll admit I miss how neat it is to have a shelf of my games lined up, but I don't miss it enough to spend 2,3, or even 4 times as much on the games.

I don't know, maybe it's different where i live, after 6 months or so prices for them start to drop quite a bit, i remember getting Shogun 2 Total War for half the release price 5 or 6 months after release, same with Might & Magic Heroes 6 3 months after release, tho i regret buying this one but w/e. And then there's the occasional sale. I'v gotten a few things cheaper than i'v seen them even on steam sales. Like i got a Limited Edition Empire Total War and Napoleon Total War GOTY pack for like 10 euros back in december or Elder Scrolls Anthology for 22 euros(if i remember right) a few months ago.

Label people "not real gamers" for not owning physical copies of their games, expectno one to take offence = Internet logic at its finest.

I still have a few hundred physical copies that I've bought / been given over the years. Also, I've known lots of people that would just give me their games when they were done with them. Even though I've had a Steam account for 9 years, if you told me even 6 years ago that digital distribution would be the main way to get PC games I'd have laughed and said that I just prefer having a physical copy. I used to even keep the boxes, but I had to stop doing that after I'd filled up an entire bookshelf and didn't have any more room for new games.
Then came the winter sales and the summer sales. And the convenience of not having to find the disk or worry about making sure that I got a DVD drive that was compatible with all the major copy protections. My kids getting older and getting my game disks all over the place or them playing the games when I wanted to play them was a killer of physical copies for me, too.
I think the last physical copy I bought was Fallout New Vegas, and even that required Steam to play it. I just wanted the deluxe edition with all the cool toys.
Now, one of the major differences between my digital library and my physical library is that I've played 75% of my physical library, while I've probably only played 25% of my digital library. In large part this is due to the physical copy staring me down and I could make a stack of games that I could see growing / shrinking.

I own a good few, but i cant play most of them because they cd key was used on a old or different system than the one i use now, which sucks

many many old titles and boxes, the last one worth to be namend this way was Drakensang: The River of Time , ( a personalized preorder editon for something around 120€). But since than I stay digital...maybe if there comes a really good title with additional stuff that I would like to have, but I doubt it.

I only own this
Thought I like more physical than digital, mostly because my internet connection is slow but I kind of like having the box with manuals and everything
I haven't bought a physical copy since I'm on steam, here they are kind of expensive, $40 the cheapest and $80 - $90 for new releases , that's why I don't buy games on my country.
