Define mod? Are we talking about game modifications, or the Steamgifts moderators, or...?

If towards Moderators / support, on GameFAQs, I went to be, woke up to find I had a message removed, then returned to the forum while sleeping. Best moderation dispute ever. :P

AMK mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. It expands the storyline up too three times, I assume. Also it has addons with new good balanced weapons, new devices, new textures and so on.
There's a s**tload of awesome mods for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.

Yea.. personally I prefer the ones that enhance gfx for the Stalker games. Though I also like using a mod that makes guns a heck of a lot more deadly, both to you and enemies. ( Though the mutants are still tough, and when I last played I adjusted the mutant damage to where you would die in a few hits. Made it really interesting lol. )

Skyrim also has a fair amount of really good mods too!

Something tells me the OP was not really meaning those kinds of mods though.. :P

A shitton of mods for GTA IV made the lag and horrible optimization bearable by allowing me to suicide bomb, fly cars, fling my dead corpse around, spawncamp, watch NPC fights, etc.

Seeing how I still play over 10 years old Action Half Life, I guess I had good mod experience.

Back in the day we used to be really blessed with all the custom maps for wc3 and user made content for hl1 and then hl2 and a few other games that buying 1 or 2 games a year was totally worth it. There was TONNES of awesome total conversion mods for hl1 like the specialist, sven coop and ns1 and stuff. CS originally being a mod. So yes, I have had many Good experiences with mods.

If you're looking for HL2 mods, try some classics like Research & Development. The Event in Village is kinda fun, so is Too Many Crates. You might notice that all these mods are slightly weird. That's the kind of mods I like.

The Nameless Mod for Deus Ex. Way better and longer than most games released today and for free. They should do a rerelease on Steam like The Stanley Parable.

Yes, there are many very good mods for some of the games i play and i'm a sad panda(and usually avoid buying) when devs(especially when it comes to strategy games) make their games intentionally/out of laziness hard to mod/unmoddable.

I remember a thread here about people celebrating Ramadan last summer, some one said some people where being so racist and ignorant against the people who where celebrating. Never was so satisfied seeing some people getting banned..
