I'll use this opportunity to plug a company that DO pay out for testing games.. from the comfort of home no-less.

PS3 for now, but there may be PC and Xbox testing in the near future, so pay attention to their facebook.

Since nobody outside development studios and publishers has a debug unit, this is probably only for stress-testing servers for multiplayer games. Not much actual game testing.

Typically though you aren't going to do that kind of QA without being an actual QA employee of the developer.

Nearly all the game testing I've done, both at home and on-site has been on the stress-testing/consumer feedback end. You will find and report bugs, but that's not really your primary purpose.
