So I wonder how do you (the people of SG) feel about entering giveaways that have no level requirement?
Somewhere in between I guess... Most of the times I feel like it's a waste of time to enter public GAs, but I still do so from time to time... Mainly wishlisted stuff and stuff that I randomly notice on the first few pages... not like in the beginning where i browsed most pages and thought long and hard about how to best spread my points...

Yeah I just stay on the Wishlisted part of Giveaways, but usually when I see one for a game i'm really excited for and there isn't a level restriction my first thought is "Well there goes the chance of winning that one."
Idk maybe I'm just too bitter from it.

I dont care about Lvl restrictions when i want to enter a giveaway for a game that i want it !. For sure, higher lvl restrictions gives you more chance because of lower entries but it make no sense to reject entering a giveaway because of its lvl restriction or number of entries when you highly want to have that game !.

Not entering lvl 0s at all, current minimum level limi for me is 3-4, if I'd have spare points maybe I would for a few selected games, but as it is unless there's a flood caused by some free game, cheap promo or great bundle that generates massive points, I am easilly spending all points on Private/Group/Whitelist/Lvl 4+ GAs.

I enter all my wishlisted games as early as I make them out. But I go through my entries from time to time and remove entries with low probabilities to win, if I need points for private giveaways from the forums. Apart from that I don't pay attention to levels cause I only enter what I'm very much interested in anyways.

I only enter for games on my WL as well, but since I have a rather large one it's a lot of giveaways. Though if a game I really want is in a private giveaway I'll take out an entry for a GA that doesn't end for a bit and use it to enter with high hopes.

I look at it this way, every single person who enters these giveaways thinks they won't win, because let's face it, the chances are slim. But we gotta remember, there always has to be a winner in these types of things. There's many people out there who think they won't win, but they do. And that person might be you, or me someday. So with that in mind, i have no problem entering public giveaways. Besides, it takes seconds to do that, you don't need to hang around this site for hours, just enter as many giveaways as you want to and check every now and then. That's how i do it.

Now that I am level 3 I tend to ignore public giveaways. I generally changed my behaviour regarding giveaways.
The first few days on here I have been like "Geez, I can win all those games?!" so I entered just so I would win something. I registered shortly after I registered on Steam so I didn't know better.
Right now I try only to enter games I really really want and when I want something really bad I tend to enter the public giveaways as well, although this is the last stop when it comes to spending my points.
When I think a game looks interesting I also enter but only in the level restricted GAs and those are the ones I win most :D

I enter them with hope, yes. Plus I usually tend to stay over 200 points, given how many games I want to actually win (because if I win, I think the least I can do is to play the game as soon as possible, within two weeks, if I can).
Granted, I make public giveaways on games I think are not a big deal if they end up in a hoarder's library and use a 10k Steam group for most decent ones, but even then I think the potential user pool is large enough to say it is almost as if I do it openly, only without the G2A bots entering for the keys.
(Not to mention that the difference in entries in the public and group ones are within 20%, so quite small given how many people get in.)

A public GA with no level-req. can have less entries than a level 5 giveaway....it´s a matter of daytime and runtime.
And a waste of points would be not entering a GA for a Game you like, cause you think it has already to many entries.....just for watching your shiny 300P counter on the top right. I very very rarely run out of points and only enter Giveaways for Games I would like to play or at least try them....so no problem.
edit: just checked my history, and eys the Lego Lord of Rings I won, was a public non-restricted GA with 4453 entries

I rarely even bother with public giveaways, unless the odds are really good (these fifty copies giveaways).
I have a handful of giveaways with much better odds in my group giveaways tab (currently 151 group/whitelist giveaways available to me, according to Steamgifts), so I just browse these instead and only enter giveaways with very little entries.
I also only enter giveaways for games I REALLY want. I used to enter for "slightly interesting" giveaways, but I realized I would probably not play them for a while and that it was a waste. So I resist the urge to enter all these ~20 entries giveaways instead. :P

I usually have a hard time to find a giveaway for something I really want anyway, often I sit on 300 points with no clue on what to spend them. So if I started looking at the level as well and avoid public giveaways, I might as well stop entering giveaways at all. No doubt there's people who enter giveaways for games they don't even want, just because they can - it's not nice, it's not cool, but then again, that's life, it's not nice and not cool either and most people are jerks anyway. I for my part, always ask myself before entering, if I even want that game, The chances are very small, yes, but they're still better than lotto or lottery. So yes, if I want that game, I will enter, public giveaway or not.

Don't know about everyone else, but I only enter the giveaways of games I want (they are on my wishlist on Steam). Why would I waste points on games I'm not interested in? I barely have points to enter all the possible giveaways of games I want.
That's what I do with my Steam account also. I don't buy games on steam store if I don't want to play them, not even when they cost 30 cents.
So, I do enter public giveaways hoping to win, after all it is a game I want.

Listen to my rule:
1 game = max 400 entries with you. (~0,25% chances)
I can visit this site twice / triple a day and always have enough time to check all desired games from group / wishlist / forum GA's (like private / event / trains) :)

I only enter giveaways for games I really think I will play. I have thousands of filtered games. Which means I always have plenty of points to spend on stuff - so why not enter public giveaways for stuff I want, however low the chances are?

You can win in Public ones.
just don't choose the AAA titles with 6000+ entries.
i usually set my limit at 1000 for games i really really really want. and at ~500 for other games.

All giveaways that i won were public giveaways so i keep entering haha
I won 4 games + 2 this week that im still waiting to received.
And im only entering game i want to play. Most time i keep my 300 points because im not entering every/any giveaway like most peoples that are entering only to win and have more games

I only enter for games on my WL, but when your wishlist is as big as mine or when a new bundle comes out there are usually 1-2 titles on there I want to pick up so of course if the bundle is cheap enough my wishlist page will be flooded with giveaways from the bundles.
8 out of the 11 games I won were from Public giveaways though so it's not that bad.

Hehe thats not bad.So you should keep entering public giveaway you really want ;)
But yeah, public giveaway without level requirement are hard to win but sometime it really worth it.
I won Dying Light from public giveaway and i was and im still so happy.Great game that cost me nothing but steamgift points hehe

I enter everything I see, from public to not, because I'm not interested in a lot of games and I've just managed once to deplete my points fully. With the amount of games I've hidden (around 2700) because I absolutely do not want them and I don't need to fill my library just for the fuck of it, I usually have 2 - 3 pages of public or group GAs on my page, that's it. And there's more than enough points for me to enter everything. So yeah, I enter public giveaways a lot.

Alright well I've been on here for a while and given away games here enough to reach level 4, but I've noticed myself constantly thinking that when it comes to public giveaways there really is no point if there is no level requirement due to all the people that will enter right when they see it even if they don't want the game and just want to own it.
Also sorry for no giveaways on here. I gave out my last key to a friend and I'm too broke to buy a game to giveaway.
Edit: I've been watching the results and it seems a lot of people still enter with hope which in turn fills me with a bit of hope myself.
