About games and OS

well, the 32 bit windows effectively limits your ram to... 3 or 3.5 GB and I guess even if you got them to work the big games would find that a bit lacking...

What are your current specs looking like? To be honest, I think the issue is with your setup rather than your windows.

A lot of recent games refuse to even install on an x32 OS. I remember buying a game for my dad last year and it just instantly said something like "yo, this PC is 32 bit, fuck that, I'm out.". What's your GPU/CPU?

Edit: The store page itself actually says MINIMUM specs required are a x64 OS, so no, I don't think there's going to be a way around it

My suggestion would be to get a new OS.

I know of a few games that don't support older operating systems mostly just because of lazy devs and that can be successfully patched. But I'm fairly certain that GTA V really does need a 64 bit OS - because of the memory requirements if nothing else.

How many gigs of RAM do you have ? If => 4GB then install 64-bit Windows :D

go to 64bit. i know, it means time and money, but there is no fix for it (that won't do more harm than good)

You could always install Windows 7 64-bit. The serial keys work for either version, so it's not like you have to go out and buy a new OS.

I don't really see any reason not to run 64-bit anymore, unless you have only 2GB of RAM or a really old CPU that isn't 64-bit. The few 64-bit apps there are run faster than their 32-bit equivalents, you get some of your RAM back on 4GB systems that normally have to share the address space with video memory, and pretty much everything has 64-bit drivers now (if it doesn't then it's likely it doesn't support Vista/7 to begin with).
