I don't even get why referrals are against the rules. I mean does it really annoy you that much at the thought of someone getting something for free? I'd be happy to buy games through peoples links as long as I can activate the games on steam, it really doesn't "grind my gears"...

Both the referrer and the referred get $2 at GMG. So really, it would be an assholish thing to not include a referral link.
