If the GA (or train) they linked was created exclusively for my thread, I would view this as a very cool contribution. Whitelisting is definitely a consideration in this case, but not guaranteed ;-)
If they link to their completely-unrelated thread (regardless of whether it includes GAs) only to just give it more exposure, I wouldn't be as positive. I probably would not blacklist them if they're otherwise ok, because it's not a totally worthless post (still a bump).
I didn't vote because I can't find any option that fits my view, hairy armpits notwithstanding.

If the train or giveaway wasn't posted elsewhere, I'd be honored about it. If it was posted elsewhere and the user is just trying to get more attention, I'd be indifferent to it.

I've done that before and people either seemed to be supporting it, or just ignore it. (With "that" I mean I have posted invite only gib links of the game another person is currently giving away in a public giveaway)
For me personally, if someone did this in one of my giveaways, I'd support it as well.
As for links to threads.. well, not too cool of a thing to do but to blacklist for something like that? Nah, not worth wasting the spot.

Or say you are making an exclusive train to promote something/celebrate your cakeday... and somebody decides to add an unrelated train/GA about themselves in your thread for no apparent reason. would you BL that person?
