Why are cockroaches so frightening?

Fun fact Cockroaches are Omnivores.. and will eat meat(including human) if nothing else is around... although. it would take you being dead and a hell of a lot of cockroaches. But, still the thought is scary.

Squirt dish soap (or any liquid soap) on them = insta-death. They have an oil membraine around them that lets them breathe. I lived in southern Japan for a while and cockroaches are just a normal part of life.

Once I've heard that cockroaches are predator bugs, because of that when they smell fear in animals they "attack" ._.
But the real problem with them is they're small and squish and disgusting, and while being all that they can just go over you or into your clothes and... urrgghhhhh... give me creeps just to think about >.<

Once I was a cockroach killes as some of you guys, but them I took a roach in the knee, inside my jeans... and now I kinda run away to tatical safe positions when I see one and try to kill it in tactical safe ways from safe distance. (true story)

the 1 thing that makes cockroaches feared is the germs, a lot of humans fear germs and viruses and cockroaches carry tons of them, being near a cockroach means being near expired food, feces and other nasty garbage.¿, and unlike flies, cockroaches are more menacing because of their size, inners outside of their body, tons of disgusting fluids, awful smell and well color black doesn't help because most of the human culture has grown with black being the color of evil, demonic things and death, so a cockroach being fully black and carrying tons of germs...you can make the association there.

anyway that is mostly my explanation for the subject, the clor black part is just a speculation, and surely is nt in anyway racist (because black people are actually brown, and brown is associated with chocolate, which is delicious.....mhhh delicious chocolate)

it is their protection against your eventual brutality.. and your protection against a bacterial infection from them. Of course sometimes people react irrationally and disturb the order

life, nature made everyone according to a equilibrium and fundamentally we are all the same life manifested through many creatures

the same reason puppies, cats are cute, their attractiveness is their protection against a possible aggression from you (some people are insane and they bypass this protection and hurt the innocent creatures

They are filthy and they look yuck. They ran and try to hide under your feet because they are stupid and they fly sometimes.

Because they crawl into peoples ears and eat out their eardrums. Plus they make your house a shithole

I just don't understand what's so bad about cockroaches, sure, they're weird looking, but they're also really small and easy to kill. If they were as big as even a small dog, though, that'd freak me out. If they were as big as a tiger, I would just go ahead and kill myself before they got the chance to get their slimy giant mouths or big spiky legs anywhere near me.

Cockroaches are just eating the rotted, or started rotten thing. DONT fear!

Because it's unpredictable. Anything unpredictable naturally invokes fear in humans, or at least the majority of humans.

Cockroaches are scary because they sleep for 18 hours (If they are in your home and not outside) and for the rest of the hours look for water (food is a bonus).

you must accept the roach overlords into your home and they will ease your fear by taking up residence in your bed. Once they feel you have sufficiently been cleansed they will leave your abode. If they find you unworthy however you will be cursed so live a thousand years in cockroach hell where you will be tortured with tiny whips.

And I read somewhere that they have survived ever since the Dinosaur era which was 65 mils years ago. God damn this little creature needs to die and to be eradicated from Earth for eternity.
