General Info

Next-gen only.
Single player only. No multiplayer.
Arkham Knight isn’t just the name of the game, it’s also the name of a brand new villain. Rocksteady is working with DC’s Geoff Johns to create the character from scratch.
Batman starts the game in the Arkham City suit, but gets a new costume early on.
Takes place in a central zone of Gotham City split into 3 islands. 5 times bigger than Arkham City.
The level of detail in Gotham City is some of the most impressive Game Informer has ever seen in a video game.
Takes place one year after Arkham City.
With The Joker dead, Gotham’s villains come together to try to take down Batman.
Scarecrow, Two-Face, Penguin, and Harley Quinn are all confirmed.
Kevin Conroy is back as Batman. Troy Baker is Two-Face, Nolan North is Penguin, Tara Strong is Harley Quinn, and Wally Wingert is Ridder.
Batman visits with Oracle in the game, she’s not just a voice in his earpiece anymore.
Cut scenes are all done in game, so it doesn’t feel like you’re playing a game and then watching a movie.
The characters are incredibly detailed. One has the polygon count of Arkham Aslyum, the whole environment.
Batman’s cape and character’s clothing reacts realistically to wind and movement.
All quick-fire gadgets can now be used during flight.
Batman can perform a quick ground strike to downed opponents.
Interrogations are back.
Batman can incorporate the environment into his combat combos like never before.
Fear takedowns allow Batman to take out multiple enemies in slow motion, as long as he isn’t spotted.
This is Rocksteady’s last Batman game. There will be a clear ending to their Arkham trilogy. It’s possible that WB Games Montreal may still make Batman games set in the Arkham Origins time period.

Batmobile Info

Rocksteady set out to make the best car in any game ever.
It’s so detailed it would take up the space of an entire Xbox 360 game.
It’s the only drive-able vehicle.
Players can bring the Batmobile to their location with the press of a button.
It can do burnouts, jumps, boosts, and even rotate in circles at a full stop to get you pointed in the right direction.
It can smash through barricades, trees, and building corners.
Batman can eject out of the Batmobile and go directly into gliding through the city.

Well to be honest, they were probably working on this in the background since city, using origin as a kind of smokescreen till they were ready to let this one out. They actually had to finish the arkham series, as they leaked this in city with the boat manifest. Seriously, let them finish their thing before making them go on to something else. Otherwise we end up with arkham Shenmue and a cliffhanger storyline that may or may not ever have a conclusion

Warner Bros. Games Montréal made Arkham Origins. Rocksteady made the rest so they have had since 2011 when city was released.

Looks promising. I fear it will be just a new story layed over the same game though.
I hope they will close the Arkham series in a nice way, then move on. :)

Very nice trailer, good to hear Rocksteady is back (though I haven't played (or bought) Origins yet, so I can't critique it/WB).

And it looks like the batmobile is likely to be a new gameplay mechanic after it got so much screen time there -- Batman: Arkham Driving.

Rocksteady never said that Origins would finish the trilogy. Actually I'm sure they don't even count Origins as an Arkham game.

Exactly, they don't. Looks like they put Origins in Montreals hands so they could already start making Arkham Knight, since it's suppose to be huge and the real finale of a trilogy.

I'm a fan of comics and i like the idea of nice and well done game for every comics character. But this is only good graphics and good cinematic trailer. I only hope that the final product wont be only graphics and nothing on the game play side.

It doesn't sound like the Joker will return. I am not quite sure how to feel about it. Part of me wants him to be back and be the main villain. Part of me, though, just wants the Joker to stay dead. Either way, the Scarecrow will be a great villain.

Personally I think Joker (at least the real one) should stay dead. Harley looking for a replacement could be an interesting side quest though...
But I'd like to see this one focus on the Two-face vs Penguin feud, with Hush driving a second main plot. Basically, continue from the main loose ends that City left.

And if they are going to do a fifth game/second side game, they could do Arkham Apprentices for a "Batman without Batman" story, with a heavier focus on character switching as you play as Azrael, Nightwing, Robin etc.

Agree with that Arkham Apprentice thing. It would be very cool to see how that plays out. However, Knight sounds like it will be the closer of the Arkham series.

awesome news. there can never be enough batman. ^^ and btw, i don't know what you guys don't like about arkham origins. it was an amazing game, en par with arkham city. i enjoyed it a lot, and i really don't understand the bad reviews. they were so much worse than for arkham city, mostly because it didn't have enough new features (which i think is not neccessarily a reason to give 70% instead of 90%). and the funny thing about it is: the same reviewers give the highest ratings every year for call of duty, fifa and whatever. ^^

I haven't played it yet but I know at launch it had quite a few game breaking bugs plus there is continuity issues with the other Arkham games.

You cant really try to compare COD series and Origins in such a cheap way to prove a point. Origins was a bad Batman game filled with gamebreaking bugs, continuity issues (he gets grapnel boost in City and Origins for the first time, story with Harley meeting Joker doesnt really add up if you compare Asylum and Origins), uninspiring gameplay, bosses without any motivation or a story who were just thrown out there to serve a purpose for mandatory and dull boss fights (that QTE part with Deathstroke was extremely dissapointing), not to mention assholish attidude of the devs later ("were more focused on delivering the dlc rather than fixing gamebreaking bugs") and crappy multiplayer that nobody asked for.
Arkham Origins is nothing more than a cheap cash grab title with half-assed story and felt more like a dlc rather than a decent game.
I would give it 4/10 at best

is it gonna be a slightly revamped Origins with better graphics and a better story? maybe. Will it add a lot of new stuff? Possibly.
Glad that rocksteady is back.
I hope there will be more to the game than just a different suffix to the word Arkham in the title.
