Do these deserve a spot on the Field Of Glory, or should they have stayed in the Shadow Of The Shogun?
Here Fanatical sent a love letter ! This bundle is gold because the players who wanted these games often bought the game at release and then dlc one by one and owo it's expensive. Here to complete your collection or to get a full game it's a crazy cheap deal !
(Base game alone is enough to 100% FoG 2 and FoG2 medieval, dlc are just extra campaigns)

Buy depending on the era that interests you, because most are historical realistic reconstitutions of battles.
If you prefer history but don't have a favorite era, the best game is FoG2 medieval, most dynamic, most colorful, most impactful.
You prefer ancient Rome/Greece : Fog2
You prefer medieval era : Fog2 medieval
You prefer Total war with just auto-resolution of battles : FoG empires
You prefer Korea/Japan feodal history : Sengoku Jidai
You don't like history but prefer heroic fantasy : Fantasy General II
Base game alone is enough to 100% (achievements hunting) FoG 2 and FoG2 medieval, dlc are just extra campaigns if you're a history fanatic. But dlc are usually extremely expensive, so if you wanna buy one, my advice is to buy this game + all the dlc related to this game in this bundle.
So i would say... You don't have a favorite era and don't wanna play a single game ? Then buy all the base games without dlc.
You don't have a favorite era but wanna play the best historical game ? Then :
Field of Glory II: Medieval (required)
Field of Glory II: Medieval - Storm of Arrows (first choice dlc) - Amazing dlc here you've british archers and french crossbowmen
Field of Glory II: Medieval - Rise of the Swiss (first choice dlc) - Great dlc full of Swiss pikemen !
Field of Glory II: Medieval - Reconquista (first choice dlc... if you wanna play reconquista)
Field of Glory II: Medieval - Swords and Scimitars (second choice)
Field of Glory II: Medieval - Sublime Porte (second choice - didn't play this one yet :p )

Then...
FoG2 medieval + maximum of dlc (first choice) - You want Storm of arrows because it's French vs British (100 years war) :p
FoG2 + dlc if possible (second choice) & FoG Empire + dlc (if you wanna play grand campaign with FoG2)
If you don't have much money, go with FoG2 medieval you won't regret. Compared to medieval, FoG2 is almost obsolete gameplay-wise if you are not a classical era fanatic.

You're right to ask you don't bother
FoG Empires is grand strategy with a classical era mediterranean map.
Battles are auto-solved.
If you wanna play manually the battles, then you need both games FoG Empires and FoG2.
Next week will be released the equivalent of Empires but for FoG2 medieval : FoG Kingdoms, it'll be expensive, much more colorful, but with the same battles system that forces you to close/restart games.
edit : on every dlc steam page, scroll and you can see for example Storm of arrows dlc steam page, at bottom there is the detailed list of added units and campaigns
8 additional historical scenarios covering key engagements of the period on an epic scale: Courtrai 1302, Laupen 1339, Crécy 1346, Kulikovo 1380, Aljubarrota 1385, Castagnaro 1387, Grunwald 1410, Agincourt 1415.
5 additional history-based campaigns, covering the major leaders and conflicts of the era: Hundred Years' War (English), Hundred Years' War (French), Sir John Hawkwood, Henry of Trastámara, Władysław II Jagiełło.
edit : you're very welcome, wish you to have fun !

Spendy if you are missing everything, and proof Slitherine is as bad as most DLC ___s (so many foul words I would put here).
Yet here I am, dropping stupid money on an arm full of DLCs, empowering their terrible practices. Curse you, fun games! :P

Missing most of the DLCs, getting everything will be very expensive.
I may just get the Fantasy General II DLCs and perhaps FOG 2 Medieval DLCs.
These publishers are taking a page from Paradox Interactive's book it seems.
Where's OMEN10 when you need it :(

getting everything will be very expensive
Only because you have to buy them all at once.

Oh, come on. They are not even close by any means. In case you haven't noticed Paradox have recently introduced new policy of capping sales of their all dlcs at 50% max, effectively making them even more expensive.
Im not saying that being flooded by DLC spam is my cup of tea, but at least this BYOB prices are relatively considerate - and that's why it's the Siltherine who got 30 eur from me and Paradox got round fat zero.
As a matter of fact I wouldn't mind seeing similar BYOB for Order of Battle and Panzer Corps 2 :)

These are pretty consistent DLCs and for about 2 EUR / piece reasonably priced. I cannot take Paradox seriously at this moment with their dozens upon dozens of (mostly lacking) DLCs for their strategy titles.
