Thank you. It worked perfectly.

So you said you understand how the numbers are related to letters, could you take me through your thought process in that regard?

Mainly cause "Number five begins in earnest, yet ends in failure" earnest begins with e, failure ends with e. So I figured 5=e.
"If number two starts blind" hint 3 said where Number 2 starts, so I thought 2=b.
Or in part of hint 4, "Number twenty ends the hurt, And also births the tissue", the end of hurt is t & tissue starts with t so 20=t
This is what I thought. I didn't understand hint 2 numbers, hint 4 no. 3, what no. 8,15 meant in puzzle.

never mind. I got it. I immediately got it after I wrote it.
edit: and the next puzzle is beyond my level of english vocabulary

Well I'll give you some extra hints for the 2nd riddle, I feel bad that you solved the first one but didn't get access to any giveaways.
The answer is 5 letters long, and 4 of the letters are (in no particular order): K, O, M, E
Good luck!

Thanks. I never would have figured that out. I thought it was a small rodent or something.
