Description

Please do not enter unless you have the base game. At the end of the giveaway I will be checking the winners steam. If your steam is not available to look at or you do not own the base game, I will request a new winner.

In theory, SG should already automatically block out entry if it doesn't detect ownership of the associated base game. [Do let me know if you've come across any exceptions! Well, aside from some of Steam's early "expansion pack" listings (ex), which do certainly have that issue. I believe there's only about a dozen of those left now, though? So it shouldn't by any means be a common issue.]

On the other hand, users can enter for dlcs they already own (unless they won them off sg), due to Steam not sending out ownership information on dlcs. However, if you add your winner on Steam, you can then check the friends section [Steam is busted for me atm, so I can't check the exact label for it] on the right side of the dlc's store page and it'll show whether or not they own it once you expand that section.

I had done some looking into trying to package dlc with the games they were for and had seen in some of the forums that sometimes people won that didn't have the base game. That's why I clarified, just in case ^.^

On that note! You're actually the winner Sooth! Just sent the code to you :)

Ah, yeah. That'll happen in packages, for sure. Well, packages which exclusively contain base games [like some SEGA collections- and good luck getting the missing dlcs after nabbing one of those packages, ugh] are a lot easier to manage, as those can all be detected or publically seen. But once you have a single dlc- or a single misconfigured element in the package- detection goes to hell.

Meanwhile, the base game in the package means SG'll let people enter regardless of owned content.. well, unless the base game is what's misconfigured, in which case either only people who already own it can enter or noone can enter. Packages get messy, sometimes. :P [Still not as bad as when a dlc requires another dlc, though- since SG can't ever detect "base game" on that, those are permanently locked out of sg giveaways. :( ]

And- woo! Thank you for the DLC! ^.^
Always so hard to get a hold of dlcs and expansions, and it's hard not to feel like you're missing out when playing without a game's expanded content. :S
