Serious Sam 3: BFE

Thanks for the welcome. At first I avoided sites like that but it seems that it's quite useful, especially to find a use for those keys that I don't need. Though I hope they won't go into the hands of people who simply start a new giveaway with those (if that's even possible...does the system recognize keys that were already used in a giveaway?).

Well there are rules against simply re-gifting a won gift. You also have to mark it as received and if you don't have it activated and then try to do a giveaway for it... it's going to be pretty obvious. Also, thanks for the giveaway.

So if the system can't find the game in their library after they won they will attract the attention of the moderators?
Well, I can see that will work if they regift it on the same account. But what actually happens when they use another account to regift it? They simply could say they gave the key to a friend. However, I'm sure it'll work it. As far as I know I can review the winner anyway. In case he's suspicious it just goes to the next one.

Also, as mentioned I'm not fully aware how that system works. I think the key won't go out until I reviews the winner, right? If that's the case: that can take up to 7h because I most likely will be asleep at the time my giveaways are ending. Yeah, I know, I should have chosen a better time. My bad.

Well you need to have enough games to equal $100 on the account in order to register it through a SteamGifts account. So it'd be a spendy way to level up. The rules also say you must activate the games on your account. You're not supposed to send them to a friend. I could possibly get in trouble for accepting a game other than the one listed when I won a giveaway, but their key was messed up so I took something else instead. I just don't enter for that game anymore, but it could come back to bite me. I just didn't want to mark as not received because they still gave me a game of equal value.

I'm not sure how putting the keys into the system works as I've always just sent the key in a message to the winner. But I THINK if you put the key into the system then it'll show up for the winner immediately. But if they already have the game then it wouldn't let them enter unless they didn't sync the account since acquiring the game previously. Basically, if they take it and try to regift it then it's out of your hands. It's up to the mods or the people that get cheated out of a gift later on to take action. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good.

Oh, so there's even a minimum value your account must have?
Well, my account is far above that so I didn't even notice.
Anyway, I reviewed all 3 winners and sent the keys. They looked clean so I don't worry about that

Yeah. I mean, it's market value so if you buy a 100 dollar pack of games on sale for like, 10 bucks then it'll still count. But you'd still be spending money to win free games. So regifters get caught real easily. No need to worry about it in the future :)
