Thanks for this wonderful giveaway, and sorry can't donate since I really have nothing too at the moment just living with my and got no work. But I will pray for your friends dad recovery.

Thank you for the giveaway. I donated a bit. Unfortunately, I have donated to scammers on GoFundMe before. I was disappointed, to say the least. But if someone is helped out, even just a bit, then it doesn't matter.

Believe me when I say I'm wary of scams as the next person, that's why I did some checking ahead of making this gib. Here are a few links if you're interested to check:

https://support.gofundme.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015913668-How-to-Determine-if-a-GoFundMe-is-Legit

https://www.cnn.com/2017/04/17/us/iyw-gofundme-accounts-legitimate-how-to-trnd/index.html

http://gofraudme.com/tell-fake-gofundme-page-real-one/

There are other links, and of course, methods to check the legitimacy of a gofundme. Those you can look for yourself.

Another thing I did first was run a scan of the image through google's databanks to see if it's been used multiple times. According to Google, it's only been used 2 times entirely. That means it's an extremely high probability that it's real. If that image was seen elsewhere at earlier dates of usage, I'd cry scam.

Another thing: I did some background checks on the individuals and on their given address, etc. via voting records. I also ran a few background checks.

Finally, I checked the whitepages which constantly updates their websites with current people. Sure enough, he was there.

==================================

I for one, believe it's real. I hope this helps alleviate fears, and thanks for helping donate!

Wow, thank you for taking the time to write all that out. I'll definitely use some of those techniques in the future.

Just to clarify, I didn't find this particular GoFundMe too suspicious, largely because the OP is trustworthy and the photo seemed legitimate. It's just that I recently donated to a fake one where the creator was also seeking money for his father's medical treatment. I sympathize for those who are ill, and because there isn't much I can do, I try to donate. It just bothered me that someone took money that could have gone to someone who needed it. It certainly left a sour taste. That particular example was found out to be fake when someone asked for more proof (the organizer was not in the States). The evidence provided was clearly fake since it came up on a reverse image search.

But again, thank you. And I certainly hope this fundraiser is successful.

I live in U.S

If a person lives in a country where the U.S dollar is worth less, then I cannot Gift it, and instead send a steam gift card with the money equivalent of $50 in their country. For Europe for example, I'd go and pay for a $62 dollar gift card which translated into Euro is about E50

Steam gifting be annoying since the change.

Well, I shared a link on all my social media accounts and on my game's Itch page, hopefully someone might feel like donating.

As for you're generosity here, I will probably not take advantage of it since I don't think my computer could run it, and I do have it on Xbone. But it's super generous!

Fantastic giveaway to show your support xD

I donated in GBP, but through the Paypal link. Don't trust my credit card to GoFundMe.
By the way... it's cheaper to donate in your native currency. This way you go through paypal's exchange, otherwise you go through bank exchange + fees (which is often higher)

PS: Thanks for verifying the validity of the campaign, it really helped me make a decision.
