Homefront®: The Revolution

It is known as witch hunting, and is against the rules - not to mention rude. People just don't understand the idea that calling others out for theoretial-possible crimes is worse than just leaving them alone. The idea that there is no victim to an incorrectly labeled giveaway seems foreign and crazy.

But yeah, against the rules to act in bad faith and attack folks willy-nilly.

Oh I agree completely. I was not trying to defend Pedro or anything. It just looked like Ruben was unaware of why he said it. There's been quite a few Revolution giveaways lately that was actually Homefront 1, so it's no harm to ask, which plenty of people have done in much better ways then Pedro did.

Hi Dogman110, to expand and clarify on what PedroST said, if you are giving away the original Homefront, you've selected the wrong game. The original game is being given away for free by Humble Bundle, and support removes that from the giveaway list while that's happening (it may be added back later as a zero-credit giveaway). The rules don't allow giving away games that are part of large-scale free giveaways or selecting the wrong game to bypass that rule (you've selected the sequel, Homefront: The Revolution).

After a winner receives a game, Steamgifts checks whether he redeemed it to his Steam account. Since you selected Homefront: The Revolution, the system will look for it, and if you gave away the original game, it won't find it. As a result, the winner may be suspended for not redeeming the win (some people break the rules and sell or regift a game rather than winning and playing it). To avoid this, the winner must report your giveaway to support as having given away the wrong game (if this is in fact the original Homefront), which will result in your getting a suspension, which was what PedroST was trying to warn you about.

If this is the sequel, which is on sale at Humble Bundle for $7.19, no further action needs to be taken and thank you for the giveaway. If you did select the wrong game by mistake and it's the free game, I recommend deleting it, as you risk a suspension as described above and you may get blackslisted by some people for not following the rules.

Great - thanks for the follow-up & sorry if I sounded suspicious. There's a feature request to have Steamgifts list games that can't be given away, but pop up a note explaining that, so that people don't pick a game that they think is "close enough" but so far it hasn't been implemented.
