I'm giving away 100 copies of my really short steampunk VN to kick off summer!
Also, fun fact, I'm rewriting this VN into a full-fledged book (now called The Automatons of Oleander Isle). I post various updates on the progress of that here!. I was also going to post the book's page on itchio but the website isn't working for me right now so screw it

Adding achievements to a VN is a rather easy way to make it more appealing :3

achievements won't show up on collections because Steam's rules, also if the game was longer, i'd find adding achievements worth it since i could fit a bunch in and make them varying levels of rarity (like I did for my other two Steam VNs), but this one is short (not enough room for the amount of achievements I would want) and only two dollars so all that + Steam's rules = not this time, sorry :-(
(this is what i get for commenting while tired, my original response came off rather bratty so i felt i needed to overexplain to compensate)

There are people who buy games specifically because they have achievements, and even more so if they can easily get 100% completion in it. There are also several groups oriented towards curating these kind of games.
So I would say that adding achievements certainly doesn't hurt the game, on the contrary it might boost sales a bit. And depending on what engine the game uses it can cost you only a few hours / a couple of days (if it's Unity) to implement them.
Personally, I always prioritize buying & playing achievement games over non-achievement games.
Either way, thank you for your generous giveaway!
