Hi, first of all, thanks for the giveaway.
I've noticed you haven't set a level restriction in your giveaways, may i suggest, that you do so in your future ones?
The reason is simple, there are a lot of bad accounts on this site, like autojoiners, multis, bots, win resellers and other rule breakers or just leechers, who doesn't contribute to the site at all, and most of them are found on level 0.
I even suggest to set an higher level than 1, because it will cost like 10 Cent to reach that level, even level 3 is pretty cheap to reach and will costs like 10 to 20 bucks, also being poor isn't an excuse for me, because i live below the poverty line of my country and even i managed to get to level 5 in few months.
Another advantage of setting the bar higher is, that you won't get bothered by all the annoying thank you messages from autojoiners with thank you script, that's why i set my bar even higher to at least level 4 and level 3 being the real exception.
You can even go right away and delete your giveaway to set it up new with a level restriction, if you wish to do so, deletion of running giveaways are accepted instantly.

with 970k users on level 0 85% of the accounts on the site haven't contributed with a giveaway and just there for leeching, another reason for setting up a level restriction.

I honestly like everyone to get into my giveaways without any group/country/level restrictions. If there are cheaters or bots in this site, there is no problem making level restrictions or invite only to each giveaway...
I will keep this message in mind, and at the next giveaways, probably I will make restrictions.

But anyway, the sad part I think with rising up the level of the giveaways, it's just the narrowing of the candidates to win.
If you look at some point, it'd become a "Trade~game" system more than "Giveaways". =(
But yes, it's the user's choice and there's no valid opinion from the rest of us at lvl 0. =(

i just posted it here, to get the most attention to the topic
even if you exclude level zeros, there are plenty enough users left, popular games can easily get over 1k entries, even with 4+ level restriction set
i wouldn't call it trade system, it's more like a secret Santa system to me

mmm... well... from a certain point of view, the secret santa system is more or less a trade system, at least around here. =P
Though the hardest the restriction, could mean that people are more willingly to make giveaways since they'd want to get to the higher society of steamgifts ... but I kinda think it could work on the other way too, the more elitist the system, the less people could want to join.
But since the argument can result in both ways, I guess there are less people thinking negative about it. (I would be in the minority of the majority of lvl 0). =P

or look at birthdays, gifting is usually mutal, even if i bring my gf flowers, she would gift the favor back somehow
The secret trick is to set the bar low enough, that it doesn't get elitist, as i said you can get to lvl 3 with no more than 10 to 20 bucks, but that's almost enough to scare away most multis or other bad accounts, because guess what, they're even too stingy to invest that, because they want everything for free and the downside of this mentality is, that someone always pays the bill and here this would be the good accounts, so setting a level restriction is just a protective measure

There's always something in other people actions that on our perspective, is wrong. I wouldn't jump so easily in the concept of there are "good" that buy and share and "bad" that expect everything for free... Situations and life isn't the same for everyone, I'm afraid.
I just don't know if it's that simple and I'm just afraid it's not.

I'm not so sure about level restrictions. There are high level accounts that are active and enter new giveaways but are unresponsive as a winner. As a new user trying to level up it's cost me a lot of time chasing and checking when I have enough giveaways available as I want to do multiple copies at a time. Eventually I messed up and gave away the wrong game which I know I had previously entered correctly but I closed the page and went back once I have more giveaways.
I imagine there are bots to auto play and pull entries to get the best chance of winning as you'll be less likely to win a giveaway with 1000 entries than you are one with say 100 entries.
I don't think the level restriction is much of a barrier as the registration barrier is $100 worth of games purchased.
Most people don't have keys to giveaway and so they would have to pay entirely out of pocket.
Some people are either insanely rich or have free keys to give away if they have given away $50,000 worth of games.

you get 26 CV for 5$, even if you don't have left over keys available, that's pretty cheap to level up and get out of the low levels, you can even buy the bundle multiple times without hassle, if you want to do so, Fanatical wouldn't make any trouble, not like Humble
Otherwise i don't see your point, i'm sorry, yeah there may be bad accounts on high levels too, but the percentage is much lesser, than on the low levels, and with overall lesser numbers, there are also less bad accounts in sheer numbers, not to mention this argument is whataboutism, but i still referred to it, so let's talk about the many bad accounts on low levels now and setting a level restriction is the easiest way, to avoid them
idk about these 50k accounts, you need only 5k to reach level 10 and i think most of these accounts are around for many years, i wouldn't call them insanely rich, maybe they just have no wife and kids, low expenses due to their lifestyle or just a good paying job.
If you take the above example, they only had to spend 8$ a month to reach 5k after 10 years, thats absolutely doable and you don't even have to be rich for it. I've seen people on Twitch who thrown a lot more money to Streamers

I was doing 1 hour giveaways thinking, the sooner it's over, the sooner I can give the gift away.
My hypothesis is that, the short window is ideal for people that check regularly.
I now do 1 day windows.

probably you will get more autojoiners with 1 hour GAs, because they are active 24/7
i do 2-3 days, because people with limited time should have a chance too, since i do level restricted GAs already

The "as sooner i can give the gift away" sound in the theory good but in the reality it give much more problems and longer waiting times with low level accounts. Not to speak from the higher needed rerolls, if you check your winners on unactivated/multiple wins, that costs always multiple days.
So the speed when the GA get marked as recieved depends very much on the winner that gets picked.
You can have luck or unluck on each level but the chance for a not so lucky pick is higher on lower levels and higher with short timeframe GAs because more autojoiners are in them and lesser "real/honest people".

I think the thought came from, if I say had a weeklong giveaway, they might be less likely to be active at the time it ends and not realised they've won.
In hindsight, yes, the majority should drown out the auto-joiners in the longer giveaways.
I donโt even have a problem with people using scripts, etc, I just donโt want to be liable for giving a gift I canโt give away.

If you want a level restriction, then do it on your own giveaway.
what part of "giveaway" do you not understand? It's free for everyone that's why the contributor set it on level zero.
Stop crying that your chances of winning this game is lessen, and just stick to your level 3 giveaways.
Let other people have a chance, not everyone are bots, nor do they intentionally not contribute at all.
I have a few games i'd like to give away but for some reason they are all region locked even though I purchase the giveaway keys in steam.

This is being a life-long debate and there will never be global agreement to set lvl restrictions or not. Because there are many more factors than just "many lvl 0 bots" or "leechers"
