The Stage

Welcome to the Jura Mountains which separate the Rhine and Rhône basins, forming part of the watershed of each.

This is a typical stage for a successful breakaway with the GC riders preparing for the days to come as not enough of a difference can be made today. Will any of the GC riders allow their lieutenants to ride the victory? I doubt it. So who will we see at the front? People like Tim Wellens, Thomas De Gendt, Stephen Cummings, Pierre Rolland, Rigoberto Uran, and Robert Gesink might all want to run away with this one.

Untouched by the passing times, the house of Louis Pasteur has been preserved as it was known him. It plunges the visitor into the environment of the scientist's life and work. Pasteur always came back to his house of Arbois, the only one he possessed. From the modest tannery of his father, little is left as Louis Pasteur transformed the house to his liking. Surrounded by his family and friends in the living room or dining room, he could dedicate his time to his research in his private laboratory. It was in Arbois that Pasteur carried out his work on fermentations and it was there that he developed the famous pasteurisation.
