A nice ride through the vineyards of Burgundy?

This is another one for the sprinters. The losers will want to improve on their performance from yesterday and might be tweaking their sprint trains. However, we are making a large loop as we approach the finish (see the map below) and the wind might have something to say. Could this be a good chance for Peter Sagan? Never bet against him.

Tour Touristique

Straight from the Tour website, bad English and all: Junction Monument. On September 12, 1944, the 12th regiment of cuirassiers of the 2nd Armoured Division of General Leclerc, led by Lieutenant-Colonel Marc Rouvillois, who had landed in Normandy and liberated Paris, made the junction with the Savary detachment of the 1st Marines Regiment of the 1st free French division of the 1st Army of General de Lattre, led by General Diego Brosset, who had landed in Provence. Operations Overlord and Dragoon joined together in Nod-sur-Seine. A monument was erected in memory of this event.
