I think fireworks are dull in real life, I can't imagine it simulated.

My thought clicking this link: No way! Finally a simulator I can get behind! This is gonna be sweet....
Then I read your comment and now I feel foolish...:(

If everybody thought the same as me fireworks wouldn't exist, maybe I'm the oddball here. xD

Nah - I'm loving this - been on my wish list for ages - apparently it's very well made and simulates actual recipies etc.

Yeah I noticed from the screenshots it's more complex than it looks, that's actually impressive (I just hope people won't try it at home).

lol Don't bet on it - Fireworks are illegal here now without special permits - but when I was a kid, our science teacher used to let us make our own - one of my favourite memories from High School was accidently setting the back wall of the science room alight in a full size wall of flame with mixture of Sugar, Potassium Nitrate and Copper Dust (for the blue green colour), wrapped around a nickel coil, packed into a paper shell and connected to a 12V battery.
I flipped the switch, waited - took my earplugs out, turned to my teacher and said "I think I got the mix...." BANG!!!!!
I damn near crapped myself, and we all bolted for the fire extinguisher.
Principal came down after the firefighters left, surveyed the damage and after discussing it with the teacher, asked me to make up about 10 more for a display later that week. Was pretty damn cool. Lithium burns scarlet real nice :P

Damn, I wish we could do stuff like that back in my school days, but it seems our chemistry lab on school was just for show. D':

I've recently moved from a big city to a smaller one. Yesterday I went to a firework on a local fair. If I had never seen another firework I would also say they're dull. Every rocket exploded almost at the same spot. The colors seemed grouped (first green, then blue, etc). At the end they tried to make it up by shooting up 20 rockets simultaneously.
In my hometown there are at least 4 occasions with firework. 3 times a big fair with 4x times fireworks each time (the fair stays for 4 weeks) and the harbor birthday. At both the fireworks are really great. They seem composed and probably companies are hired to do their job.

Yeah, when the display of fireworks look tidy it's most probable that it's coordinated by professionals, every New Year's Eve my father organizes some fireworks for simultaneus shots with different colors and kinds of blast, yet it doesn't look so "neat". xD
