Instead of "Thanks!", I would prefer to know what's your favourite shooting game (could be more than one)?
For me, it would be the BioShock series (especially the first one) and Borderlands. Two really different series that got me hooked for their own reasons.

I'm not a big fan of shooting (because I suck), so a shooter game has to have something extra to captivate me. For Mass Effect series, it was awesome worldbuilding, story and relatable characters. For BioShock, it was the atmosphere, variety of weapons and an immense satisfaction of frying a person alive with Electrobolt.
In both games, I still tended to use more support or "magic" abilities (biotics/plasmids) than shooting though.
Borderlands 2, Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 (yay for sequels) are lots of fun too, especially with the right kind of people.

First I would say the STALKER series. It was the first FPS I played that had an inventory system. I get a huge satisfaction from knowing I can bring thousands of ammunition for my favorite weapon instead of arbitrary (and small) amounts for each weapon.
Next is Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I really enjoyed the open world and exploring and looting and leveling. I like the combination of FPS and RPG.
Finally there is the Borderlands series. I enjoyed the variety of weapons and playable characters each with their own skills. Unfortunately I really hate the multiple playthrough and leveled weapons. One playthrough per character is sufficient before I get bored. And having to continuously find higher leveled weapons gets tiring especially if you have specific weapons you like. Trying to always get a purple level auditing competition or streamlined outlay is time consuming.

Yeah, I agree with you on Borderlands. I played the game many times (especially B2), but I barely touched New Game+. It really doesn't appeal to me that much, but I see why other people enjoy it.
And out of the other game you mentioned I only played Fallout: New Vegas. My friend nearly forced me to play it, but now I'm really happy he did it. It's a really great game, but after 60 hours of play time I got overwhelmed by how much stuff there is to do. I promised myself that I'll finish it someday.

I pretty much know nothing about this title. What makes it your favourite?

Gun customization. Control over AI teammates. Gadgets. Sync shots.

It looks pretty interesting, but complicated at the same time.

There's a lot of handholding. Like on-screen tutorials, and it only introduces one new gadget at a time. Learning how to play the game wasn't hard.
The hardest part was learning to do coop missions with my friends and their distinctive playing style. For example one friend liked to find ways to sneak past enemies that didn't need to be taken down. While I liked to make sure every single enemy on the map was killed, as quietly as possible. And other friends just liked to shoot stuff and needed to be reminded that there were in fact actual objectives to complete, heh.

Haven't played any in years, so CoD 1 and 2, and Brothers in Arms. Wish I could get em in steam soon. :P The Brothers in Arms pack goes pretty cheap but I've had other priorities, and CoD never goes cheap due to their stupid pricing plans. I've played half of the games tho so it's not that bad. I'll get to it eventually.

Nope, never heard of it. What is it like?

it's a first-person shooter game. The weapons and some maps are based on real world. Real world maps are really great.
similar to other shooter games, players earn money by playing a round game and can choose to buy and upgrade their own weapons.
The official server is closed but some fans built a new server and run it until now.
