Montgeron / Paris Champs-Élysées

Stage 21 - Sunday, July 23rd - 103 km

The Stage

Paris isn't far now... The tour finishes with the customary finish at the Champs-Élysées (in the evening, these days). A mass sprint is practically guaranteed but many of the sprinters will have exited the tour by now.

Most, if not all, remaining sprinters will have lost part of their sprint train by now so who does best without one? The last eight years we've had only English and German victories here; who will be kicking ass and taking names today?

Trivia: the stage begins in Montgeron, the town that hosted the start of the first Tour de France way back in 1903. Back then, the stage covered an incredible 467km from the outskirts of Paris all the way down to Lyon.

Winner: Dylan Groenewegen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh man...

I was sneakily hoping for this result and was tempted to add my own prediction to this page. :)
