Wait... I already own this game. I guess it didn't update?

Give it a try and let me know if I should ask for a reroll.

Hello JTC3.
You don't appear to own the game. If you have set the game as "Private" in your Steam library, then that is the reason we or the Steamgifts system can't detect it as owned, allowing you to enter and win the giveaway.

Ah I'm sorry. I do that sometimes to help me organize games, as I have self-diagnosed OCD, either those that are within my Steam Family or that I have on other platforms. For instance, I have 911 on EPIC so it might be best to let someone else give it a try..? I don't want to be too selfish as I didn't realize which happens sometimes sorry!

You are not forced to accept this win if you already have the game elsewhere, you are always free to refuse a win. Just wanted to let you know that if you had the game already, then that is the possible reason as to why you were able to enter the giveaway before.
In this instance you did exactly as you should have, you checked your ownership of the game and didn't reveal the key, instead telling the creator to reroll. However it is up to the giveaway creator if they want to go through with that or not, if they don't then you can simply mark the giveaway as "Not Received" when you can since you don't have to take the key.

Perfect! I am glad to hear that I did what I should have done haha. I apologize for any inconveince but it appears this was not a major deal/issue. I truly appreciate the information and will attempt to prevent this in the future. I was not aware that I could "refuse" a win and mark it as not received without penalty. Regardless, I hope that the giveaway can simply be deleted or the key can be rerolled if Mister Pib agrees :)
