It's my birthday today. I hope that winner will play some of this because Fallout 1&2 are my favorite games ever. Bethesda's abominations can suck donkey dong :-P
Enter if you wish so, Tactics is a different thing though. More like Jagged Alliance in a loose Fallout iteration. Not exactly canon, nor as good as classic Fallouts or Jagged Alliance 2. Still worth playing IMHO if you like the genre.

Oh, I kinda enjoyed newer Fallout games, especially with mods, but I don't consider them sequels, more like inspired titles for some mindless sandbox fun. Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim with guns, exactly. Only New Vegas has some value as a Fallout cRPG to me.
While I enjoy Fallout 3 and 4, I did enjoy playing the earlier Fallouts many moons ago. Of course, the CDs are long gone...
Did you try the fan-patch for Fallout 2? It fixes a LOT of bugs, restores a lot of the deleted areas, and you can now find Sulik's sister (that quest being removed from the game always irked me).
Of course, I played through killap's restoration mod many times over the years during it's development. I'm an old fart, was playing Fallouts when they were new and hot. Still make a playthrough at least once a year, plowed through many mods, unofficial patches and expansions. I'm a No Mutants Allowed lurker since it was started circa 1998 or so, don't really remember ;-)
I could have sworn there was a different patch than the killap one, but it has been so long since I last played Fallout 2 (and the fan-patch I had didn't have the Sulik's sister quest restored), it could very well have been that one.
It's been a loooong time since I last visited NMA. Is it still around?
I just want to be able to watch all the end cutscenes without them skipping on me due to the speed of my computer! ;)
You probably had MegaMod on your mind. I personally prefer killap's work, consider it the most complete Fallout 2 version to date. NMA is still out there, I recommend to visit them sometimes, great source for all post-apo fans. BTW, Lexx from NMA ported Fallout 1 to Fallout 2 engine with some improvements. Check it out when you feel like refreshing the classic ;-)
Playtime on Steam is a hoax TBH but in reality I'm pretty sure I spent even more hours in all Fallout games, most of it in F1 and especially F2 (including mods/expansions made by fans, they are made mostly for F2).

I think they made Fallout: Tactics canon, at least once Bethesda took over the franchise. I believe Vault Zero is mentioned somewhere in Fallout 3.

To be fair, at least we got some more Fallout games out of it. Although I realize the new games aren't everyone's cup of tea.
