I'm feeling like SG is slowly going towards a direction of people actively asking participants to do something in order to enter a giveaway.. or else.. It's not just you, but you happened to be the one I'll be commenting about..(especially because of that notion of a "public (shame) list".
Maybe you mean this in a funny way as well, but I don't understand what is it with all the pressure of bumping this-that, comment here-there or I blacklist/public shame/ridicule you or DON'T comment because I will do that.. Usually I either don't take part in such giveaways or will just do what I feel like doing anyway. Like here, I may or may not withdraw before it ends, depending on the mood. But it just rubs me the wrong way when people want something to be done in order to participate. Sure you say "please" but this is cancelled after the "threat" of..exposure! Is this the new bullying style? Don't you think that this may start or turn to bullying tactics on the people that you put on a list? Many won't even read why there's a list and why names are on it, if you decide to post it on a discussion for example, but will just follow others with pitchforks because "some users are bad", or read just the last comment, and there will be flames etc like usual..
And in contrast to this is that thread which you want to support, which is supposed to be about understanding the others' problem and maybe help if we can. Not bully them into doing things (doing anything, what the action is isn't the point) because of the "carrot".. Some may not feel like bumping or commenting or whatever at the time of joining, or maybe not at all because..well..reasons. That doesn't make them bad people. Or maybe the (whichever) thread was bumped 3 minutes ago, what's the use of spam-bumping threads? And then you just forget about it.
Anyhow, those are my thoughts on this whole situation (which you're part of, not sole responsible or beneficiary or hereditary or arbitrary or other irrelevant words..)
Do I care about such lists? Well.. when I'm here reading stuff, I may care momentarily. But I have so many other issues to solve and resolve in real life that I can't afford to get anxious because of this as well. But I like to come here to get away from other issues, not find new ones..
PS. Point in case that thread was "bumped" only a minute ago..

All fair points, and noted. But you need to consider this from my perspective. After dozens of giveaways posted in threads like this over the years where a simple bump was all that was asked and thousands of users just not able or willing to follow a simple request, you can imagine it can get frustrating at times. Paradoxically, if you read this and thought about it, this list thing isn't for you anyway. And I'm not going to go around posting it in discussions either. Think of it as an experiment of sorts. I want to see how it turns out.

Well you took the time to read all The Wallin the North.. so that's something.
And yes, I can understand that point of view as well, it does indeed get tiresome.. To be honest though, I have come to a conclusion that not much can be done for people to change (for the better), unless it's early on (age-wise). I wish I could see that it happens and I'm proven wrong, but there's only so little that does change, sadly not enough to make a difference. Then again you have to keep trying I suppose, to at least keep the balance..
In any case, hope the experiment makes some (good) sense to you, as in able to deduct something useful out of it.
Have a good night and take care..

(cause, yes, there's a bunch of them, here around)

sorry for caps. but i'll leave those, they look noice, from here :P

Thanks for the great GA.
I'm really surprise that almost 50% of people entered without bumping, for some reason I always thought people lurking in the discussion section where well... interested in disscusing. I see giveaway in this section as a perk of being an active member who contribute to the discussion but I guess some people see it more as a way of getting giveaway with better odds or they might have simply forgot who knows...
Anyway I wouldn't expect the ratio of people entering/commenting to be that low.

I am sorry but it look like witch hunting, I will not bump because I don't want to be part of this ...

I can`t actually enforce anything here, I see it as a reminder of sorts, but fair enough. (About half of the entrants so far had no such qualms about entering without bumping, though).

yes most of them are using script like ESGST (which have an option to add a + on any page to enter giveway without open the page), so they will never read your description.
Does it means they are bad people ?

It means they are being inconsiderate.

I can`t actually enforce anything here,

Well, if it involves a PosTho member, you can always note them to us. We don't necessarily require our members to abide by non-group giveaway requirements, but a persistant display of inconsideration would definitely make us inclined to reconsider their membership (as it'd go against the core conduct expectation of our group, of needing to behave in a manner which at least shows an attempt to be respectful of others). :S

And sorry, I know this is crazy delayed, but it's been a rough few.. uh..years.
Just felt you deserved to get some support on the "they are being inconsiderate" sentiment. ^.^

Do you really want to be on that list for all to see?

Well, it gives a totally new meaning a " You're Not Alone" name. Now it's "You're Not Alone, because I spy on you".

You do not have permission to comment on giveaways.
