Can't you hide threads already? I think it was added a few months ago, after some arguments about the current war in the middle east. When you open a thread there's an eye button on the top right, it hides the thread from discussions permanently. Could be an ESGST thing though.

I also use ESGST, but have never really felt a need to hide threads, other than the ones about war that kept popping up to the top last year.

Think of all the drama around those 2 posts that could have been avoided if this was a normal function of the site!

Ah well... sad to lose a bunch of regular users in the community, but happy to know i have the option of cleaning up posts i'm not interested in from my feed.
