Albi

Rest Day 1 - Tuesday, 16 July

< Stage 10 - Home - Stage 11 >

No Stage

The riders are in luck; there's was no travel after yesterday's stage; they'll be in Albi for three days. The rider in the yellow jersey won't get much rest; there will be quite some interviews and sponsor obligations waiting for him. Even though officially the transfer market doesn't open till August 1, you can be sure there will be lots of contract negotiations going on today.

Rest Day Prediction Special

Obviously no rider is going to win today so we are doing something else. Predict which rider will have the Lanterne Rouge (Red Lantern) at the start of the second rest day.

Red Lantern 'Winner': Yoann Offredo

Tour Touristique

The cathedral of Albi, built from 1282, is the largest cathedral made of brick in the world. It is 113 metres long and 35 metres wide. Alone of its kind, it is monumental thanks to a style typical of south-western France known as southern gothic. It is the only cathedral in Europe whose walls and vaults are entirely painted on a surface of about 18,500 m2.

Offredo has a solid lead for Lanerne Rouge currently, but I heard he is sick or something so probably won't reach next rest day. I'm counting on Stephen Cummings instead.
