I find it sad that a game would be marketed with cards being (one of) the primary features. How about cool gameplay, interesting story, awesome soundtrack, gorgeus graphics or just anything for making an entertainment product entertaining? Anyway, joyful celebration of your first game launching!
Its just a joke. Of course I'm not marketing the game like this. I'm not even marketing it at all. I just wanted to give it away and I find it would be cheesy myself talking about what I think its good about it. So I just saw an opportunity to be funny.
Its not like I'm saying that people should join the giveaway/buy it for cards. I'm just not comfortable talking about my own projects.
I understand but I sometimes see games actually being marketed with cards being of the main sale points (or even the only one). Not that uncommon, unfortunately, with bundles and many shovelware titles they include.
As a developer, it is alright to market your game and its good points. It is encouraged and somewhat expected.
