Old Fanatical key - there should be no issues with it. If there are, I cannot replace the key as the game is not listed on Steam anymore.

Well, I didn't point out the region restriction for Germany ... but I DID explain why after it was pointed out. Short version, a couple months ago Germany changed their laws about video games, requiring all games purchased (and "received as a gift" still counts) in Germany to have an age-restriction label. In the USA, the ESRB does that, with labels like "E for Everyone", "T for Teen", or "M for Mature" ... but it's always been voluntary and a lot of older games that had nothing "unusual" about it, such as blood/gore, nudity, sexual content, etc just never bothered to get the label. Suddenly that makes several thousand (SteamDB could only display up to 2000 but it's estimated to be way more than that, possibly into the tens of thousands) games illegal to purchase (or receive) in Germany for the crime of not bothering to do something that wasn't mandatory at the time.

I didn't want to overexplain in the GA description, hence the "pointing out the restriction". 😋
But your explanation was very helpful because I now know to check for restrictions for all GAs, just in case. Something I hadn't done before (unless there were restrictions from Humble or Fanatical).
Thanks again!

Old geezer here, too. Agreed: helpful.

No need to restrict any games for Germany. We cant purchase them from steam directly, but we can just buy them from stores like Humble, Fanatical etc and everything works fine.

Just when I thought I was grasping a hold on the whole thing... 🙃🤪

I dont know what someone told you, but especially from Fanatical there are in 99% no region restrictions at all from my experience.

Sounds like Germany is such a fun place to live...

And now imagine a situation where your country doesn't restrict any games, but games are restricting your country =|

Sounds like Russia.

No worries though, the restricting law is being cooked as we speak.
