Good luck to everyone!

Hiya. Are you comfortable telling me what country you're in? I'd like to know for future WL giveaways. I would hate to exclude you.

I don't know if you meant to send the message to someone else...
I have no problem telling you, nor do I have a problem taking part in all your giveaways. If you want to give something good that I can't activate, I don't want to be the factor that prevents you from giving it.
Now that I've made my position clear, I am Greek.

I meant to send it to you. :)

So you're using the Euro. Good to know! It usually seems to be just above or right below that +10% line compared to US dollar, so I can see it being tricky from time to time.

I appreciate that you don't want to be the deciding factor with some of my giveaways, but to be honest, out of the 100+ people I've whitelisted, I honestly only care about 6-7 of you. I NEVER see giveaways from 90+ of those people. I'm sure they're making them, but I just never see them since I buy a lot of bundles and have a lot of games on my filter list. So yeah, I genuinely do care that you're able to enter as many of mine as possible. I really don't want you to feel awkward about that though, because it's just what I want to do. It's what's fair. Some people really do just deserve more consideration than others. :)

Thanks for your time, and I hope things are going well.

I've noticed it in others, but I see it in myself too. As we level up, the participants become fewer.
I recently told a member that I would easily whitelist him, but several of his giveaways with minimal even 0 participants put me off. I'm talking about a level 10 member, with a realCV close to... 0.2.

As for me, I'm nothing special. There are other members much more generous and kind. Members like you, who told me at the beginning about my impressive leveling up, while you had more impressive or PoeticKatana, who with one sentence made me immediately give you my blue heart. :)

And something I would like to tell you. Because I've seen it, but it probably happened because of sales, so forgive me if I'm wrong. When I have balance in my wallet, I give, I don't want you to feel pressured that you have to give something at the same time.

Sorry for any grammatical errors. I hope they make sense.🙃
And thank you for your kind words. 😊

I've seen some of that, high level members with whitelist or invite-only giveaways that will have like 1 or 2 entrants, for new & popular games too. It's interesting. There's definitely different classes of groups on here, lot's of gated communities.

I hear what you're saying about being nothing special; I feel that way about myself. We've all got our ways of doing things though, and to me the way you do things stands out. You're a quality-over-quantity gifter, which I think is great. I remember you telling me a while back that you wish you had/could gift more (something like that), and from what I've seen, you've stayed with that and are doing a good job at accomplishing your goal. Shows you care about this place, and care about keeping your word. To me, that puts you above the vast majority of people here.

And something I would like to tell you. Because I've seen it, but it probably happened because of sales, so forgive me if I'm wrong. When I have balance in my wallet, I give, I don't want you to feel pressured that you have to give something at the same time.

I understand, and to be honest I do let people on here inspire me more than I probably should. That's on me though; a slight problem that I do need to work on. At the end of the day though, giving makes me feel good, so really I'm doing it as much for myself as for anyone else.

Sorry for any grammatical errors. I hope they make sense.🙃
And thank you for your kind words. 😊

I guarantee that your English is infinitely better than my Greek, so no worries!
Thank you for the nice words too. 😎

I have mentioned my case before, that at the moment, I am not able to buy bundles. And I believe that whoever is in my position, would prefer to give unbundled. So anyone is like me. :)

I believe I complained that I would like to give more, so I can take part in giveaways, which are hidden behind sgtools with some rule, say, that someone must have given at least half of what they have won (in quantity). Maybe another reason is to avoid getting blacklisted, which I've noticed, but after thinking about it, I don't mind at all. Please, if you ever use sgtools, make a rule based on realCV.

I have noticed this in other members as well. I know it feels good to give something, but I don't know your financial situation, and sorry if I overreacted when you were aiming to reach level 10. Personally, I have set a limit of not giving away anything more expensive than the most expensive game I bought for myself. If an AAA costs 60 euros, this limit is at one and a half A.

Ah, I do remember now; you saying that you're not able to buy bundles. Would you please remind my why?

To be honest, my financial situation isn't the best, for an American anyway. I do realize that I won the lottery just being born in my country though, and the fact that I'm constantly buying all these video games shows that I'm not hurting too bad. I read something once that if you have a roof over your head, and consistent food, water, and electricity, then you have it better than 80% of the world population. IDK if that's accurate, but ever since then I've tried to keep it in mind.

Unfortunately in my country they don't allow prisoners to buy bundles. Just kidding, I don't have a credit card. But don't ask why. I try to counter that by giving games that are on sale. :)

You seem like a reasonable and mature person, so I don't know if this helps... If I were you, knowing that you have some close people in your real life, I would try to give gifts to them rather than strangers on the internet. Sorry but I've been trough hard times, and I have a problem with wasting money.

Sounds good and I'll try to keep that in mind too, in case I become more optimistic in the future. :)

I should have got back to you sooner than this. Apologies.

I'm going to the dentist in about an hour, and TBH I don't really know what I want to say, so I will think about it and reply later.

I did want to ask though; How important is having Disco Elysium to you? I see that it's been on your wishlist since it's release. I have a whitelist giveaway going for it right now, and TBH I'd really rather give it to you. If you're comfortable with that, let me know. Knowing now that you can't get bundles, I'd hate for you to have to spend $10 on it when I have an unneeded copy just sitting around.

Oh, don't worry, and write when you have time. ;)

As I've said before, don't pay so much attention to my wishlist. I know that this particular game is for many their top game, but I also know that it requires a lot of reading. A LOT. So I don't know how much I'll enjoy it. 🙃
If I'm lucky and win it, I'll give it a try. I don't plan to buy it right away. :)

Sounds good. I've always felt weird having longer conversations on SG or through Steam. Some people want to talk and talk every single day, and others will act like they do just to be polite, and then they get burned out on it and get weird. I get weird about it too sometimes. It's hard (for me at least) to know when to back off/put an end to an online conversation.

About the Disco Elysium giveaway; I did end up deleting it. When I first came back to SG, I added a bunch of people within the first month, and looking at their profiles now, some of them hadn't created a giveaway in 8+ months, and a lot of them are only doing group-only & no whitelist gibs. Also 2 of them still hadn't added me to their WL, and I just can't get over that. Maybe I'm too judgemental about it all, expecting too much, but I just didn't feel comfortable with them still being there and potentially winning the game.

Anyways, I don't want to make you uncomfortable, so I'll just say it once more and that's it: My Disco Elysium key is yours if you want it. If not, then that's cool and I honestly won't take offense. I get uncomfortable accepting free games from people, so I wouldn't blame another person for feeling the same.

If you want quick messaging (in a chat format), I don't know if I'll be able to follow...
I can understand almost everything in English, but I always run my answers through a translator and make corrections where I think they are necessary. So that they make some sense at least to me.
For example, I am friends with PoeticKatana on Steam, usually when I want to talk I ask him if he has some time. And we usually kind of lose track of our conversation because I seem to be replying to his previous messages. :(

About whitelists, to tell you the truth, when I added some members at the beginning who either helped me or said something nice about me, I thought I would also add members who had contributed a lot to the community and I had to somehow restore that injustice. With several, I did not and have not exchanged a single message. They might be waiting to win something first, I don't know... Also the 2 you mention, might be waiting to win from you first to return the blue heart.
Personally, however, I never intended on such a thing. And those who reciprocated and I see members unknown to me taking part in their blue giveaways, I think it's for their friends, so I don't participate. It's fine by me.
It bothers me more when it is to send a game, which I prepare to have a short chat, which means opening the translator in a tab. And never appear online on Steam. They just accept the friend request and the gift. And we communicate through steamgifts with messages... I have dealt with most of my winners this way.

You once left me a Hue key. I wanted to tell you for a long time, how I finally got it when Steam gave it away for free. I don't feel comfortable taking something without giving something. And also to mention that I have refused keys from other members as well.
Since the only way I have is to send you something from Steam, if you want I can send you a game or games you want in exchange for your Disco Elysium key.
I hope you know that you can sell keys on sites like barter.vg .

Apologies for letting nearly a full day pass since your post. My nephew has been staying with me that last few days, and I can barely get any time to myself. In the moments where I do have time to myself, I've been playing some games for the "Monthly in a Month" challenge. Trying to get it done really fast since I'm going to be very busy next month.

I didn't realize you ran your responses through a translator. That must be really time consuming. I'm impressed! I don't think I could learn a second language if my life depended on it. It's a very American thing to learn a 2nd language in High School, then forget it completely a year or two later. My country is just so massive, and nearly everyone speaks English, so there's almost no incentive for the average person.

About whitelists: I tend to get too involved with it. I just think about it too much, and after a while I can get a little offended. Thank goodness I decided to avoid blacklisting. I think that would drive me crazy.

About Disco Elysium:

I do want you to have the key, and if you would want to trade me something in return that would be great. I don't want you to take the game if you really don't want it at this time though. The main reason I wanted to give it to you is so that you wouldn't have to spend any money for it later on, so I would hate for you to spend money to repay me for the key. If that's what we do though, I would only want you to spend like $2-3. Would you be okay with that?

Or, would you feel more comfortable if I created an invite-only giveaway, and gave you a 20% chance at winning?

I'm the one to apologize for stealing your time. Please share your time with your nephew.
As notifications appear, I have no problem with any possible delay. And please don't mention it again.

Yeap, it takes some time, but it's my punishment for not learning English when I should have.
I know you (USA) have a problem with languages. There are also some European countries that have the same problem. Basically, the more powerful a country is, the less dependent it is on other languages. In my own country where tourism is a key part, it is mandatory to know at least one foreign language. Even I have been approached by tourists in the middle of nowhere asking for directions... lol

Look, if you want to get into a lot of whitelists, make trains as often as you can. If you want, put them behind simple jigidis with about 50 pieces or simple puzzles. And even with 5 wagons each, you will succeed. And if you're regular, you might even see the blacklists shrink. But yes, you put a lot of thought into something so trivial.
And something related. It's been a while since I told PoeticKatana that I want to get on more blacklists. And this after I saw that some member blacklisted me. At first I thought about asking him publicly why, but then I thought that since the blacklist works both ways, maybe he himself loses more than me.

I have, like any proper gamer, a huge backlog. Yesterday, in fact, I sinned and bought 3 more. I don't plan to buy the DE anytime soon.
I don't think I'll play it right away, or if I do, I don't think I'll enjoy it. I get tired of reading a lot. I've been playing Grim Fandango lately, but the use of puns and slang are making me very tired...
Thank you for thinking of me, but I'm sure one of the other 4 will know better English and enjoy it more. If I were you, I would choose 5 members who know any of the 12 supported languages of the game. No hard feelings. :)

Ah, no worries. You're not stealing any time from me or my nephew. To be honest, I look forward to little breaks from him. I love him a lot, but all he does is talk about J.R.R. Tolkien and the Nintendo Switch, and I can only listen to that for so long. :)

I would like to make this message longer, but right now I don't have the time. I mostly just wanted to give you this:

After you enter, I will delete the link. The giveaway ends in about 25 hours, and there will be at least 4 other entrants.

Hope you're doing alright, and I'll see you later!

I consider you my friend. You forced me to take part. Don't do this to me again. Never!
Another thought, how about making an account for your nephew, and activate the good games there? And when he grows up, you give him the new email and the password?

Would you really rather I don't send you invites? If so, I apologize if I've made you uncomfortable.

I actually thought about doing that for either my niece or nephew, but they're too hooked to their consoles, and I don't think I'd like working with 2 accounts. I may regret that one day, but hopefully not.

There are members who deserve it more than me.
And you also put me in a difficult position, that the other members we share the giveaway with, also deserve my blue heart.
I never add members when a giveaway is running unless there is a reason (<5 entries). At some point, I will remove some blues first, because they have never participated in any, or are absent from the site. And then I'll add some.

Edit: Do keys ever expire? Maybe you would keep them in a txt file and give it to them when they got their PCs, and let them share them?

Well, I am genuinely sorry for putting you in a difficult position. If you would like to remove your entry, I won't get offended. Honestly. I can always ask people in the 5-entries thread in the forum. No big deal! 😎

Keys can expire, mostly depends on the publisher. I've read some stuff about it happening to Fanatical keys more and more nowadays, which is where most of my game keys come from. I try not to keep keys for longer than a month or three.

EDIT: I decided to delete the giveaway. I didn't want to make you have to choose, so I hope that's okay!

I have a difficult personality, you have to get used to it.🙃
I don't know why you chose me in the first place. I have already won some good games from you. I feel like I owe you, and we'll talk about that at some point.
And I'm sorry if I ruined what you had prepared.

I think I felt bad that I made you uncomfortable with offering you Disco Elysium, and also you were the only one out of almost 30 people that said something nice in the comments section of the whitelist giveaway for it, which I really appreciated.

I got the key for The Ascent earlier today in a mystery bundle, and when I saw it was on your wishlist, I thought an invite-only giveaway would be a nice way to make things better after making you uncomfortable.

You didn't ruin anything, honestly. I can understand your thinking, and at times I would probably react the same way you did. And really, you saved me the headache of trying to get 3 other people to join the giveaway, and then sitting around hoping they would enter in time. So please don't feel bad or sorry. At the end of the day it's not a big deal!

I think it goes without saying, but you can make giveaways that I can't take part in, let's say level 10 or something. I have no problem with that. Even if I can't take part in any of them, I'm glad our paths crossed and we exchanged some messages. :)
