Favorite game in past 12 mo: No Man's Sky
Haven't seen any worthy movies (hardly ever go) unless "Logan" was in past 12 months. It's pretty good - worth seeing.

thanks for chance on Pocket Kingdom;-)

No Man's Sky is so much better now than when it first released. Glad they didn't cave under the pressure of bad reviews and comments. Its great that they are still focused on making the game better!

My favorite game is The Great Gaias. 25 bucks is a lot for a RPG Maker game from an indie studio, but I had so much fun playing this that I finished the game 2 time in a row with different parties (17 playable characters 60+ hours for the main story).

Thanks for the link! It definitely looks like my type of game, but like you said the price is steep for an RPG Maker game.

You can get the game for a fraction of that price from one of the keystores.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention! It looks like there literally hasn't been any coverage of it, but the reviews are quite positive. Story-heavy games are my cup of tea, and I haven't played many JRPGs that have lived up to that recently. (Was not impressed with Bravely Default, at all.)

I'd probably say Super Lucky's Tale because it's very polished and well designed in every aspect; it even avoids doing some of the annoying things that Super Mario Odyssey did. My only complaint is that I wish it had some more challenging levels.

from the last 12 months.

Do you mean "released within the last 12 months" or "that you played or saw within the last 12 months, regardless of its release date"? Either way, I think my answer is the same.

Either played or released. Some people have games/anime/movies for years before they actually get a chance to play or watch them. Love that game! I have it on Xbox One and enjoyed it a lot!

Favourite Game: Believe it or not, I hadn't played Bastion until September of last year. I really ought to have tried it sooner, seeing as it hit my biggest storytelling kink (cozy post-apocalypses!). Soundtrack, graphics, gameplay—all superb and original. I honestly can't find fault with it, other than being mildly annoyed at how difficult some of the challenges were and wishing I could replay the narrator's dialogue at times.

Favourite Anime: I haven't been watching as much as I used to, but I was certainly taken with Made in Abyss. It's got a unique world, likeable characters who share an adorably sweet codependence, and more than its fair share of hard-hitting plot points. Pity about all the uncomfortable loli/shotabait. It makes it hard to recommend without serious caveats, even though the sexualization is more of a lurking creepiness in the background than anything half as overt as other anime.

Favourite Movie: Honestly hard to say. My friends and I have a weekly movie night, where in the past year we've watched (among other things) The Godfather, The Breadwinner, Back to the Future, the first Star Wars movie, Ida, The Vertical Ray of the Sun...all of which have been awesome in their own way. If I had to pick a favourite, though, it's actually going to be an anime movie. In This Corner of the World is goddamn phenomenal, one of the most heartwrenching, understated war movies I've ever seen. It's also on Netflix, so you know. Watch it if you like good things.

In this Corner of the World is phenomenal! I actually watched it on Netflix and then bought it on DVD at a local store that had it in stock. Bastion is a really good game, its cool you finally got a chance to play it.
Made in Abyss is really good and I can't wait for season 2 to air!

High-five for having awesome taste! Looks like I didn't need to talk about any of my favourites after all. :p

Bastion was so good! Confession: I never finished it D: and I keep meaning to go back to it. I wanted to finish all the challenges before starting the end part (at least I think the game was telling me the next part was the end). I was finding it difficult and eventually too much time passed.

Have you seen Grave of the Fireflies? If In this Corner of the World is as sad as that I don't think I could watch it!

I think you could easily restart Bastion and have a lot of fun on a second run of sorts! The game actually encourages multiple runs with a choice mechanic near the end.

I wouldn't say In This Corner of the World is as sad as Grave of the Fireflies. Grave of the Fireflies (from what I remember) is pretty brutal from start to finish. In This Corner of the World has a more optimistic underlying theme, which is that regardless of what happens you have to keep going, because eventually there will be good times again. It does feel a lot like Isao Takahata's work, but with less overall cynicism. Still a very powerful war film, though!

I knew there was a NG+ but I felt like I should complete as much of it as I could first time round. Oh no, a choice! If you pick the wrong one does it just end without NG+? I guess they will make it obvious if that is the case. I am kicking myself for leaving it so long. I have chronic fatigue too and that game wore me out fast so that's another factor. I will definitely pick it back up at some point though!

Oh good, I'll put it on my to-watch list. Yeah, Grave of the Fireflies was a bit much, as amazing as it was. Wasn't expecting a Ghibli film to be so depressing.

I promise there's a NG+ no matter what! It's more about affecting the story than anything, and there are multiple choices to make a second playthrough more interesting. (Although personally I can't see myself making any decisions other than the ones I chose. Too painful!)

Takahata's output in general was always way more depressing than Miyazaki's, and I think a lot of people mainly associate Ghibli with the latter. Princess Kaguya is also pretty soul-crushing to get through, albeit in an entirely different way than Grave of the Fireflies.

I always go with the "good" or "nice" choices, at least the first time around, so I will probably pick the same. You've got me intrigued now!

And thank you, I will add that to my list as well :)

Vietcong. (ALL TIME FAVORITE, and I've been playing it recently, so I would say Vietcong for sure)
It is a vietnam-war theme FPS.
I really hope it can be released on GOG or steam, but the odds are it's not gonna happen because they pretty much abandon the game, which is very sad.
I am also looking for people to play it together. I don't want such a good old game (GOG lol) to just slide away from the passage of time. It is fading away but it will always be in my heart and memory.

Thank you. Activated the game and marked as received.

My favorite game from the last couple of weeks is Slay the Spire. It's a great rogue-like card game that is still in Early Access but already feels like a complete game.
