Description

In my previous set of giveaways, I asked all of you to share your favorite quotes instead of saying thanks. Most of you gave some great phrases or quips I wouldn't have otherwise read, but a few people still just spammed "thanks" on a few giveaways simultaneously. I suspect the robots are trying to learn about mankind by playing our games, and you can help me stop them!

So here's the deal: prove to me you're a real person by posting the game you're most looking forward to playing right now (other than - or at least in addition to - Grand Theft Auto V or The Witcher 3), and I'll add you to my whitelist. If you post anything overly generic or otherwise bot-like, I'll add you to my blacklist. Do nothing but enter the giveaway, and I don't add you to either list, and you can still enter most of my future giveaways, but you might not get an opportunity to get win every giveaway I might offer in the future...

Let the games (giveaway) begin!

I'm looking forward to playing System Shock 3.

Even though it'll never happen. D:

I'm curious, how can I play System Shock 1? I've only seen System Shock 2 on Steam

It's basically abandonware at this point, but, well... I hate to admit it, but torrents might be the only way of getting it. I know that there's a mod somewhere that adds a few more "modern" features to SS1, so I guess the community's still alive?

Oh god you are right, it's even listed as Abandonware here for download

Just be warned, SS1 is . . . not good. To put it mildly. I'd say just go ahead and play SS2 instead and, if necessary, just look up a playthrough for the first one on Youtube.

Hmmm well you may be right, someone will try to make a buck by selling it unless it was crappy. I will do as you say, take a look at a playthrough and if not just play SS2, I love Bioshock which is the closest to a spiritual successor from what I've read.

A good number of the folks who made BioShock were among those who made the System Shock games, and it definitely does show. I do like BioShock quite a bit myself, but personally I consider it to be a watered down version of SS2 in many ways. The gameplay in particular was greatly simplified, removing stuff like the inventory screen and character stats.

Well... From not so mainstream now; I want to do a full playthrough of Fallout New Vegas (I played earlier several times, but always something interrupted my gameplay for so long that I wanted to start from beginning), but now I have university, but maybe I will managed to free some time on holiday.

That's a good plan! Huge RPGs should be played on holidays when you have loads of free time! I'm starting to play Witcher 1, played the demo for an hour and I liked it a lot once I got the hang on combat.

I want to start Skyrim on December when I have my holidays though!

I tried playing Witcher 2, but it felt so clunky for me (don't know why, something about general mechanics; for example that both attack and use actions are the same button)... Maybe third will fill better to me (you can jump there :D).
Also wanted to start Skyrim, but I'm waiting for some sweat discount on legendary (want to have all at once because buying it separately is a bit more expensive), also waiting for legendary of Dishonored.

Yeah, I got Legendary Skyrim for about $13, I think it that's its historical low and until ES6 I don't see it coming down.

About Witcher 2 I had the same bad experience as you did! I think its most related to the mindset I took, the opening is one of the best openings I've ever seen in my life and I was expecting some heavy action... but instead I got a slow paced Computer RPG attached to a controller.

Now I played having in mind that its gameplay is way more complex than your average RPG with a hack and slash + magic attack style of combat. Since they made W3 with consoles in mind from the beginning its a far friendlier game from what I've seen, I want to play the whole W1 before jumping back into W2 since I felt so lost in that world the first time... wish me luck!

You've won 6 games, most of them are really nice games, even if you don't gift anything you should at least take 1min to read people's descriptions you know

Defenders Quest 2, I really enjoyed the original

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided trumps everything else in my book, as both a devoted fan of the original and a grudging admirer of the more recent addition. I'm hoping the emphasis is removed from "cinematic" kills and the developers refrain from employing any mandatory filters (that golden thing from the last was overly garish), but otherwise optimistic it will remain true to its roots. All things considered, Deus Ex: Human Revolution easily ranks among the more faithful "spiritual successors/revamps" in recent years than any other... I'm looking at you Thief, The Burea: XCOM Declassified and Syndicate.

Besides Witcher 3? Hmmm

  1. Mass Effect 4! But no official release date...
  2. Halo 5! Halo is one of my favorite franchises ever! But I won't buy a console just for one game though.
  3. I suppose that Arkham Knight is the only PC release of 2015 that I would adore to play

Since I went with "Mortal Kombat X" in the other giveaway, I'll have to go with "Ori and the Blind Forest" now, just because it is the second game on my wishlist at the moment :-) Thanks for the chance!

I'm not looking forward to anything anytime soon - my backlog is large enough as it is :)

Well, maybe that's not entirely true.
I did back the Shadowrun Hong Kong kickstarter, and I am very much looking forward to when that gets released. But that's still some months away and by then I hope to have finished a few more games. And Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has my interest, but again it'll be a while before that sees the light of day.

There's also Batman ArkhamKnight, but for that one I'll probably wait before the complete edition goes on stale. 80 euros+ is too steep a price for me.

I've actually had a craving to play Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic again, I haven't played it in years. Witcher 3 is also there starring at me from a dark corner with its bright yellow eyes reaching into my heart with its oily high poly count hands. Also Shenmue 1 and 2, I like me some Shenmue.
