So far I'm enjoying the series.
No spoilers, but I'm wondering what is next. -_-

So this isn't a video game, isn't game editing or creation software, it's just a 15 minute film... why is it on steam?

Actually, why not? Why should digital distribution share with film some of the love it's shown for video games? Besides, Steam does not seem like the sort of ivory tower to have potential money makers shooed off its front porch.
It's sort of the feature film equivalent of a that variety of indie game abundant on greenlight - small, rough around the edges, niche oriented and with a high probability of turning out a flop (vs small chance of something wholly grand).

I just fear that if indie films start being sold on steam, that we are going to start seeing shitty Greenlight for-profit quality flicks, which will flood the market (and we all know how shitty/sketchy some of the greenlight, and other devs can be.) Fewer quality goods is going to make people leave steam, or use it less in favor of a platform that doesn't cater to shitheads just wanting to make a buck.( Just like I left television behind when all the shows started going to shit and you began seeing nothing but reality show spam everywhere.) Now, keeping in mind that I know there's still a LOT of quality stuff on steam, my hope is that consumerism isn't going to make it shitty like it seems to do with so much else.
