The World Cup is almost here!!!! Which team are you rooting for? Which team do you hope burns in infamy and goes home in the 1st round? Bonus points if the answer to the 2nd question is Germany (I will never forget the Frings handball!!!!).
I'm rooting for Spain, just because I'm a Barça fan and they have a good chunk of the players. I don't really have an answer for number 2. I mostly just enjoy watching a good game no matter the teams.
I'm rooting for Brazil to burn in infamy. Since Neymar is in the team, I can't cheer for my country. So I'll celebrate some of the 47 others like Japan, South Korea, New Zealand...
France continues to win even though Deschamps seems to be awful. But he is a winner! And while I wish no ill will to Argentina or Messi ... I'm a bit tired of him by now. Maybe this will be the Coupe de Monde for Rayan Cherki : )
The world has been a horrible place lately, but even when I don't care about football... I can't deny the small brief respite it meant to win the last cup. Everyone was cheery for a little bit there, and the hymn was sung constantly. The same night we won, I worked as a barman in a party for people who had just graduated from university, I never saw bigger tips in my life, and while everyone was kind of in a hurry, no one was mean.
Can you imagine what a party it would be if Argentina won again?
It is amazing what winning can bring, in a unifying sense. But no: I don't want to see Argentina win again. Nothing against them, but I'd rather a new country step up and win. Maybe the USA???? Uh ... probably not ; )

The World Cup is no fun if you only have favorites. We all need villains to root against, haha!
