Well, likes/subscribers are no indication to if they like you. I'm subscribed to people I don't like. Also, being a rookie isn't really an excuse :P You are supposed to try to set yourself as different especially in the beginning. I made this mistake, I would know. Comparing yourself to the "legends" is also important. See what they do right, and what you do wrong.

Also, I just have to ask, why don't you want people to say thanks to you? It's a nice gesture. That is actually becoming rare on the Internet, because of how popular trolling is. I posted a giveaway for a $2 or $3 game, and people were saying "wow you people are so poor you can't afford two dollars?" Then they continued to say how retarded I am for "showing that people are too nice sometimes, and it's not a compliment". I honestly don't know how that can't be taken nicely, but whatever :P
