I suppose you have the game key instead of gift.

Top right of the website, there is a gift icon, beside the trophy. Click it to view what you have created.
There should be a "Sent" option with checkbox in front of it. Click the checkbox to lack check the key and sent it finally.
After that I can see the key, or whatever you typed in the message box.
