Description

You can recommend me some good anime movies or normal movies.
I love fantasy + adventure genres.

Good luck :3

I surprisingly liked the new Jumanji and Jumanji: The Next Level movies.
Otherwise I'm seriously behind with movies, haven't watched many in the past year(s) :|

Hi Hardok. Do you mind if people enter for the DLC or would you rather they not?

Do you like horror movies? If so I have some good ones to recommend.

Sure, you can enter for DLC.

Oh, I don't really enjoy horror movies.

Yeah np :)

I don't know what types of horror you so I've made a small list with a variety of subgenres from 2002 forward some very popular, some less. If you like horror older than 2002 there's a lot I can add.

This was mainly a list I posted on my facebook for Halloween, but I've added in a few that I've seen since then. I've listed streaming services that it can be played here in the USA, so there's a chance you might not have the same thing available on the same services as me, you also might not have access to some of these services at all.

The Dark and the Wicked (2020) - Shudder, AMC+
The Cursed (Eight For Silver) (2022) - Hulu, Kanopy
Dog Soldiers (2002) - Starz
The Black Phone (2022) - Prime
The Wind (2019) - AMC+, Kanopy
The Lodge (2020) - Hulu, Kanopy
Crazy Eights (2006) - (not on any streaming service)
28 Days Later (2003) - (not on any streaming service)
Trick r' Treat (2007) - (not on any streaming service)
The Lazarus Effect (2015) - Prime, Peakcock, Tubi, Kanopy, Plex
The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016) - AMC+
Life (2017) - Starz
30 Days of Night (2007) - (not on any streaming service)
Dawn of the Dead (2004) - (not on any streaming service)
The Sadness (2022) - Shudder, AMC+
Oculus (2014) - Hulu, Plex
The Skeleton Key (2004) - (not on any streaming service)
Peninsula (2020) - Shudder, AMC+, Kanopy
Malignant (2021) - HBO Max
Underwater (2020) - Hulu, Fubo
Color Out Of Space (2020) - Shudder
The Midnight Meat Train (2008) - Tubi, Pluto, Hoopla, Plex
The Thing (2011) - (not on any streaming service)
Cabin In The Woods (2012) - HBO Max
Funny Games (2008) - (not on any streaming service)

Thank you! That's quite an exhaustive list. I'm ashamed to admit, but I don't know most of the titles. I'm especially intrigued by those from before 2010, which at the same time answers your question about whether I like older films. In fact, I love them. I think the movies of the late 1990s and early 2000s are the best of their kind. And when it comes to horrors from this period, Asian ones are my favorite.

No, don't be ashamed. TBH I thought you probably seen most of the the ones on the list, so that means there's a lot for you to watch and possibly enjoy. With horror there's a wide variety of different sub genres and there's even more on the extreme side of things, which most can find pretty disturbing or sick. Some consider The Sadness, which I mentioned, to be one of these films as it's about people turning into zombies are homicidal and sadistic. You can be turned by blood, saliva and sexual excretions, and I mention that last part because the are sexual acts that are throughout the movie that will be pretty disturbing to most. It is an asian film, but you may want to watch "The Sadness Red Band" trailer before appoaching this movie.

If you love asian horror Train to Busan is excellent. It's one of the best zombie films ever made in my opinion. You can watch it on Amazon Prime, Tubi, Peacock, AMC+, Hoopla, Shudder, Pluto TV etc. It's definitely worth watching. I didn't list that because I was just assuming a lot of people have seen it. I did mention Peninsula in the list, which is part 2. It's not as good, but it's enjoyable. The full title you can find it under is "Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula".

For me late 90s to 2000s aren't really what I consider that old, cause I'm like a dinosaur. lol For me like 70s, 80s is I guess older and I look at the 90s and 2000s as kind of old. lol

The Dark and the Wicked and The Cursed(Eight For Silver was the original name) in my opinion were two of the best horror flix that came out recently. I put The Dark in the Wicked as my #1 horror film for 2020 and The Cursed as my #1 horror flix of 2022. Dog Soldiers is one of the best werewolf movies ever made, I put that up there with The Howling and American Werewolf in London.

For 90s and early 2000 horror these are ones that are definitely worth watching.

Dog Soliders
Dawn of Dead (2004)
Ginger Snaps
28 Days Later
Fallen
Vampire Hunter D (anime)
The Silence of the Lambs
Misery
Bram Stokers Dracula
Cube
The Devils Advocate
From Dusk Till Dawn
The Faculty
Scream
Disturbing Behavior
It
House on Haunted Hill
Apt Pupil
Seven
Strangeland
Phantoms
Lord of Illusions
Sleepwalkers
The Exocist III

Not sure if you are a fan of The Evil Dead or not, but the trailer for Evil Dead Rise dropped yesterday. I think it looks pretty good.

I also watched Train to Busan. It surprised me very positively, especially since I didn't delve into it before watching it. I simply saw it on many lists and thus convinced myself to watch it. I saw Peninsula only on the trailer, and it didn't appeal to me. I have the feeling that they deviated too much from the original. Nevertheless, it is somewhere far down on my "to watch" list.

You're right about the age of the movies. Films from the nineties aren't considered THAT old. The same goes for books. These are even more universal and timeless. Text doesn't age as much as other mass media. The opposite is true for games as they "decay" faster, and titles from 10 years ago are often considered classics, although this also depends on the audience. It's worth noting, though, that we are closer to 2050 than to 1990, which is somewhat depressing.

I really appreciate your suggestions and promise to check out every single movie!

To check out all of those is a tall order :)

Whatever you do end up checking out I hope you enjoy it. If you watch something I mentioned and want to let me know your thoughts, even if you hated it that's cool. I'd love to know either way. :)

I just really liked (I'm halfway through) Carnival Row (TV Show).. it is seriously good on its own, but considering it's from Amazon - it's ten times better than majority of their recent garbage.

For anime I would recommend either "Tokyo Revengers" if it counts as something you would watch and havent still.
As for movies or series, I'd recommend - "Stardust", "Sleepy Hollow" or "Fantaghiro" (if you can find subtitles for it, this last one is italian and quite old).
