as a kid(15-16 years ago), the moment I got internet in my house, I was setting up my first email adress. At this time an anime called Slayers was airing in Polish TV and I was totally in love with it :> And my favoritue character in this Anime was Zelgadis. Sadly zelgadis was already taken, but I thought - hey! zelghadis is pronounced the same as zelgadis! so I chose zelghadis and it stuck with me ever since ;)

But back on topic, almost same as you... When I started watching anime, Robotech, Ninja Scroll, etc. also around 15 years ago, there was character who is my favorite, D from Vampire Hunter D books. Due error in translation second movie gave D a name Dunpeal, in stand of race, which is still mistranslation of dhampir.

I also loved that show :D I still know parts of the "Dragon Slave" 's incantation in Hungarian :D I may rewatch it along with Inuyasha, I've never seen the full series of them. Yeah, I watched the fansubs and then the official ones a few later...VERY different messages between the two that I watched! I don't like how they flanderized everyone's original character traits. It was still great to see everyone on their adventures again, though.

I had mine since junior high. Was into anime and shit back then and as unoriginal a middle schooler can be I used my favourite color and my favourite animal in the language that I was obsessed with then. That being said Kon translates to a deep shade of blue and Okami is a mispelled version of Ookami which means wolf(mispelled for aesthetic reasons). Wanted to change to something more original a few years back but since I've been using it everywhere online for the past 11 years it's become kind of my cyber-identity.

True. But many things stop me from being so.
- When people would type my name (in chats and multiplayer) I'd have to learn to recognize it as mine.
- So many accounts to change the username, it would take ages to do it. And then I'd probably forget some, and get confused on which account uses which username.
- I have no idea what to change it to... :(
So yeah. Eventually, it is quite a possibility that I'd change my username to something different eventually.

Well, i have curiosity about the story behind nick's, because i found them very interesting, some of them can be very deep.
In my case i had an old nick called "nicodragon" (because i am a big fan of dragons and medieval themes) but when one account of mine got hacked i decided to create another one with other nick. Since nicodragon was taken, i decided to use originalnicodragon, but it was to longuer, so i decided to use originalnicodr.
I hope your story would be more interesting than mine hahaha
