Not too long ago, i built a new PC, and everything has been fine apart from every browser not working correctly.
I have only tried it on Firefox, Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

When I try to load up a website, it either, takes a long time, gives me an error, or doesn't even bother trying to load it.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

Maybe your ISP has a crappy DNS server. You may want to try using cloudflare or google dns servers. Just lookup how to change them for your operating system, it's not difficult. I think a DNS server just translates a web address into an IP address. So, if you type steamgifts.com into the address bar, your browser doesn't know how to get there, so it asks the DNS server to give it the IP address for steamgifts.com and then it takes your there. If the DNS is slow or not responding, you will have problems.

For cloudflare you can use 1.1.1.1 or 1.0.0.1 and for google you can use 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4

Edit: I have been having problems lately just because my ISP is having problems. In the past few days some sites won't load while others will. I often can't even get google's homepage to load, but other sites have no problem. Try another device like a laptop or mobile phone and see if you are having the same issues. If you are having the same issues on another device, then the problem isn't your computer. If that is the case then the problem could be your router, modem, DNS, or ISP.

Pretty much this.
Also updating drivers for whatever device you're using for connecting might be useful.
